Anyone tried rewiring Acid Pro 5 into Tracktion yet?

I had a go with the Acid demo yesterday night, tried to rewire it to T, and it hung playback in Tracktion. Hit the play button, it changed to the stop icon, but playhead didn't move.

Second time round I got an error about opening the audio buffers or something similar in a popup balloon in tracktion.

I'll hava a try later tonight on my laptop, as this *might* be an issue with the asio driver on my desktop machine, but has anyone got it to work yet?

As acid is now a rewire slave, that means you can use it for it's timestretching :D Assuming it works, of course

One nice little touch is that in the manual, under Rewire, it lists ways of rewiring Acid into various sequencers, first up is Cubase (bah humbug), but second is Tracktion :) Before Sonar or the four or so other sequencers listed (so not in alphabetical order)

Nice. Anyway, that was instructions for rewiring it to Tracktion 1.2, so they must have tested it a while back now ...

Chico - I've thought about this - will ACID use the start/stops and tempo info from Tracktion automatically?

if not, then it's just another standalone tool.

I actually use an old version of ACID (2.0) to timestretch rhythm loops, then import them into T. It's a little fiddly, but it does work.

Assuming the rewire is working correctly between the host and slave, that ought to be the case, yes.

Just to quickly confirm, yes, it will and does, it's a rewire slave, and yes, my initial problem was a driver issue on my other machine. Had a couple of other weird problems on my laptop (Acid hangs on load until i removed all trace of Concretefx's MicroDicer beta from the machine - Sorry Jon! and then complains that it "failed to start properly" on load, but otherwise works fine)

So initial impressions are good, it is now a rewire slave, and although I've not had a proper play yet I think this could be very interesting. I was less excited by Live, as I kind of don't like the time streching it does - maybe i'm doing something wrong? and I've no real use for it's live remixing capability.

'Course T2 will have a better timestretch and I won't need Acid, will I Jules ... Jules? Beno? Mackie? Santa?

Not to worry, i'm made of money, plus i've got endless patience and faith, so I'm sure I can buy everything. In the meantime, i'll have a wee play with this demo

p.s. For the bandwidth-conscious the Acid demo is 80 odd meg, and you then also need to get the M/soft framework if you've not already, which is another 30 odd meg. Ouch.
