I'll amend it.mladi wrote: ↑Fri Feb 05, 2021 7:54 pmThis is your idea of an adequate answer when someone trying to help?
It appears not to be free rather $2.00 which is considerable more than I can afford at this present time due to the current situation with this covid thing, not to mention the cost of living going up considerable more than I anticipated. Then there is the fact that I don't really like using my card online. Also I have a phobia thing going on with currencies, I only deal in English £'s, then there is the problem with 2 being my unlucky number.

It's completely free man, but look for version 0.41 on github.
The newer versions require you to be a patron. But 0.41 works perfectly. Been using it for a long time.

Yep. This would be the simplest way to go. They have a free demo:Examigan wrote: ↑Wed Feb 03, 2021 1:10 pm I haven't tried it, but I wonder if you could use Unify to load VST3 and then load it (Unify) as VST2 in your DAW?
From their FAQ
"Can I use Unify to load plug-ins my DAW won't support?
YES. Unify works as a bridge, allowing you to load plug-in types which your DAW itself may not support.
You can use Unify to load VST/VST3 plug-ins in Logic Pro X and GarageBand.
Provided your VST/VST3's are built for Mac
You can't load plug-ins built for Windows into a Mac host, or vice versa."
Or you can use Cakewalk (formerly Sonar) as its free and supports both formats.

I use patchwork to use vst 2 in a vst 3 host and also to access the side chains of vst 2 plugins in cubase without the dumb quad channel thing. It works well. Hopefully most hosts will maintain support for both or at least setup a built-in bridge. There is lots of free content out there that's vst 2 only that it would be a shame to lose.
