Use two out of the 9 or so possible LFOs, then simply crossfade.david.beholder wrote: Mon Feb 08, 2021 6:55 pmAlso looks like it's not possible to trick sync LFO with switching it to gate and back againdavid.beholder wrote: Sun Feb 07, 2021 11:27 pm How to reset Hive's LFO, i want it to run in sync mode but there are certain moments when I want it to start at the beginning?![]()
If you know any synthesiser that lets one dynamically switch between host synced and key synced behaviour, I'd be curious to have a look.

Nothing planned beyond the Shape Sequencer... not for this update anyway, I'm afraid...

I'm not following. You mean just switch lfo shape and the switch back?Urs wrote: Mon Feb 08, 2021 7:39 pmUse two out of the 9 or so possible LFOs, then simply crossfade.david.beholder wrote: Sun Feb 07, 2021 11:27 pm How to reset Hive's LFO, i want it to run in sync mode but there are certain moments when I want it to start at the beginning?
I wasn't suggesting feature, just guessing.Urs wrote: Mon Feb 08, 2021 7:39 pm If you know any synthesiser that lets one dynamically switch between host synced and key synced behaviour, I'd be curious to have a look.
But should everything be exactly like on other synths

Hmmm, maybe I misunderstood your question. I was assuming that you wanted to somehow switch between the LFO's "sync" option and one that's triggered by something else. Rereading, I guess you just want to trigger a phase reset while in sync mode.david.beholder wrote: Tue Feb 09, 2021 3:21 amI'm not following. In theory that sounds quite easy. You'd have a synced LFO and sometimes you trigger a phase reset. But then, the phase offset that was set with the Phase parameter is not correct anymore. That's a situation where things can get tricky, like people might expect the phase parameter to move on the UI. I guess that's why I never even tried to add an external sync inout to our LFOs...

Would be great to have different staircase shapes at least.Urs wrote: Mon Feb 08, 2021 7:42 pmNothing planned beyond the Shape Sequencer... not for this update anyway, I'm afraid...

I am thinking about expanding the number of base shapes beyond saw, tri and rect.jackmazzotti wrote: Tue Feb 09, 2021 2:21 pmWould be great to have different staircase shapes at least.Urs wrote: Mon Feb 08, 2021 7:42 pmNothing planned beyond the Shape Sequencer... not for this update anyway, I'm afraid...

That is correct. I want to restart lfo/trigger phase reset.Urs wrote: Tue Feb 09, 2021 9:26 am Hmmm, maybe I misunderstood your question. In my case phase is set at 0, but if it has other value LFO might restart from there -- I would be happy any problem with any defined behavior. I also don't see why it should move regardless to what it is.Urs wrote: Tue Feb 09, 2021 9:26 am You'd have a synced LFO and sometimes you trigger a phase reset. I also hope you understand usecase. I have very slow lfo and it's affecting LPF at the moment breakdown comes and I want lfo to be in low position.

@Urs also, I've just checked on my Pro-3 in both sync and not sync modes switching wave reset on/off is restarting LFO.

But phase is only respected in gate mode and looks like bug.

I don't know if it's been already reported, I don't even know if it's been like that since 2.1 or before, but I've just noticed that the modulation ring doesn't reflect reality in the mod matrix (original skin).
On the example screenshot you see modwheel affecting the depth of cutoff modulation by LFO1. In MM slot 03 you see the actual depth of the modulation if MW was all the way up. MM slot 01 shows the orange circle is twice as big as it should be (actual depth value is 35.00 while the orange circle seems to show 70.00).
Not a big deal, I can live with it, but thought it was worth reporting.

Hi, what about a 24dB bandpass filter, too? Might be handy for adding "air" to a sound...?

Urs can you add Noise (pink/white) as a selectable wave in the LFO section? Trying mimicking with rh or rg can give similar results but still not there

White and pink noise sound horrible as modulators. We added "ModNoise", which you can further modify with the slew limiters.accessdune3 wrote: Wed Feb 10, 2021 2:14 pm Urs can you add Noise (pink/white) as a selectable wave in the LFO section? Thanks for the tip, I tried regular ModNoise and couldn't understand why it was added, I'll try with the slew limiter options and see if any use cases present themselves!
Always Read the Manual!
