Despite it's long list of bugs some of the sounds are really nice, from warm synth pads to analogue or metallic sounding basses. It also does bell sounds and keys rather well too.
Drum sounds can be made and layered. The envelopes are definitely snappy enough. Just need to be extra jusdicious with the EQ rolloffs and wack a load of valhalla supermassive on it and it sounds pretty legit.
I say stick with it. Limitation breeds creativity.

Tehehe, that's funny. Is there a demo version of that thing or is their competition exclusively for customers?
Funny.

Hmmm...so, despite the buggy output, this thing can really, really sound very, very pretty! I won't worry too much about consistency right now, regarding the drums, but even they work quite well. All very alive. Went with the left channel for most sounds. Some don't show as much trouble when they're quick enough.
Anyway, if this synth would perform "perfectly", it would be quite a treat! I hope, they'll look at it again, see if they can fix the output stuff.
...totally worth it!
Here's my first little test, just a quickie (no mastering whatsoever):

Hi all,
Apologies if this is spelled out elsewhere in the rules, but would someone be willing to explain the "Single Instance entry" rule?
Thanks!

I think just use one instance of the synth and that is your song.FredWilliams wrote: Sat Feb 13, 2021 12:23 pm Hi all,

Hahaha, well, if you manage to make an entire entry track with only one single instance of the synth and it ends up in the top 5 (right?) then you'll earn yourself this extra price.
That means, you must make a winning track with only one instance. I'm sure this would allow to have the usual mixing effects on it, but must not have more than one instance of the synth of the month.
You can automate it to change sounds or if the synth allows splits, that's cool, too. Surge was the perfect beast for the job, but... alas. Don't think anyone succeeded?!
Any clearer now?

Thank you for the explanation (and for yours too Spring Goose)! Perhaps attempting that isn't the best idea for a newbie like myselfTaron wrote: Sat Feb 13, 2021 12:47 pm Hahaha, well, if you manage to make an entire entry track with only one single instance of the synth and it ends up in the top 5 (right?) then you'll earn yourself this extra price.

Ah, Spring Goose was sneaking in while I was writing, hehe, but you're both very welcome!
On this synth I imagine it would not be the best idea for the most seasoned artists here, hehe!
One day I may try it...kept telling this myself from long before there was an extra reward for a success. But, yeah...maybe when another Surge round comes along!?
