Plugin parameter control by speed of playing ?

Eg. Playing notes at a certain speed triggers some plugin parameters. Slowing down the playing and plugin parameters are changing accordingly. All determined beforehand by behaviour presets. A simple example use: playing long slow notes enables delay at a certain amount. Playing faster notes brings the delay down. So that long notes benefit from an extended delay while short ones are coming out cleaner.

The behaviour preset would be triggered by the difference in time between two notes. Once triggered, only a comparison in time is needed to not alter the preset behaviour. After a certain timeout, the behaviour returns at a preset default.

Is this already possible ?

Cheers.

Well, in MSF you there actually is a per-voice modulation source for that, but that's it. And I'm afraid I'm not going to make a global modulator feature for this, sorry.

That can be done with automation anyways. My question was more from a performance point of view. Wouldn't it be great to vary FX depending on how fast the notes are played live ? Not only for solos, but as a real-time compositional tool. I think this would be just great. So much could be done freely w/o having to rely on mechanical switches or a sound engineer.

Honestly, I think that's way too advanced for 99.99% people. Many people have problems using the basic modulator modules. And also, this would result in quite abrupt changes...

I see what you mean. For the abrupt changes though, an attack/release envelope that controls the fade in and fade out of the effect. :)

Hehe yeah, you see, things are starting to get complicated already! :)
