SLiC wrote: Thu Feb 11, 2021 5:36 pm Seems to be a bug with Live 11 and 125% display (half the synth is off screen!)
Is that the VST3? I've had GUI display issues with other PA plugs in VST3 (bx panEQ & Neold Channel) that PA blamed on Ableton (so no fix). The VST2 displays correctly.
Yeh, VST 3 (OK In Bitwig)
I saw that too. What worked for me was to open the FX panel, close it and then close the GUI. Open the GUI again and it should appear properly, or at least it does here.

@dasheesh i dont know you, so please forget what i wrote.

peace to all, have fun with knifonium!

i did not even see it, but you don't have to worry about offending me. i take as good as i give, and i am old with nothing to lose but the truth. i will gladly tell you that you are correct.

plus, i'm not on e, like most of the edm kids.

if you got something to say you are free to say it to me. i like honesty, and will accept truth, and was raving before most of the "regular" posters were born.

niff-oh-ne-um
the Dutch do
Leave us Dutch out of this. It's a Finnish synth.
Does that means it sounds cold? :D
Only when used outside a sauna :D
Using this synth is like whipping yourself with birch tree twigs…

SLiC wrote: Fri Feb 12, 2021 1:50 pmThe beauty of products like PhasePlant is that you only see what you use, and you can add what you want to use-unlike the Skeuomorphic stuff where its all there all of the time and limited by what's there.
My problem with Phase Plant is that even when it's empty, the GUI takes up a lot of space. By the time you put in all the things Knifonium has in it, the GUI ends up at least the same size and there is still a load of empty space, which annoys me slightly.
(I seem to remember you being a big fan of PhasePlant in other posts?)
I had high hopes and, for a while, I got some good stuff from it but I pretty soon got to a point where I found that, for all it's flexibility, it isn't really very good at too many things. The filter holds it back A LOT and it's turned out to be a lot more fiddly to use than I realised form my early experiences with it. My initial idea was that I'd make a few simple set-ups that I could quickly and easily patch as I needed to but that never really panned out. It's at least six months, probably more than a year, since I thought to use it for anything although, stupidly, I keep buying more snap-ons for it when they go on sale.

In the end it's all part of the journey - I used it for a while, then I found something better and started using that instead. Over time all the things I might once have thought to use PP for I now use something else for. Believe it or not, Union is probably the one that has most replaced PP. There is just something about the sound of that synth that really, really works for me, both in our EBM stuff and also in the 80s covers I've been working on, where I use it really prominently all over the place.

If kHs were to add a better filter, not just more poles on the existing one, PP would definitely come back into contention but, as it stands... meh.

If anyone has a spare $50 voucher, I'll happily take it.

That is fair enough, I do that all the time  I have only just got PP in the current sale so still in the honeymoon period, I am having a lot of fun with it, but I still prefer Rapid overall. Perhaps I should have used Rapid for my great GUI example, newest stuff sticks in your mind more :D

This is absolutely the best experience in the universe of all vst plugins for a long time.
Only the frequencies and resonances this instrument reaches, makes it facinating. Honey for the ears. Congrats for the developer-team. Purchased.

For 40 bucks, this was a no brainer. What an absolutely ugly, wonderful sound you can get out of this thing. I will probably use this for dirty leads and nasty sound FX.

This will probably be my best purchase of 2021.

"Too many things in one screen."
"Too many tabs."

Who's right?

Not saying you're wrong, BTW. There's a lot of stuff cramped in there. That's why I'm not an advocate for no tabs or multiple pages per se.

The synth reminds me of how synths were back in the day. You know, before you had screens.
