Due to laziness on my part, I seem to be locked out of the off-topic forum while partaking of my daily un-logged-in morning coffee-session.
Was there any real reason for the change?

Maybe we don't like them highfalutin, accountless, city-slicker types coming here and spying on our kind. 
Doing nothing is only fun when you have something you are supposed to do.

Yet you can access it through "Latest Posts" - only you cannot then view previous pages if not signed in.

Yeah. When we met the Romans, that wasn't body paint. It's bloody cold here.
That or we sent a skirmish-screen of smurfs. It can be difficult to tell the difference between a Brit and a smurf. But they wear little white hats. Otherwise, I struggle, myself.
