Was the aux/send return thing (involving muted channels) really a bug? Wasn't it always like that?
Is it not just a limitation of having send/returns be plugins and being able to have muted tracks not processing though plugins (when selected in options)? I noticed that this option now has no control over tracks with sends/returns.
The only thing throwing me off is that the meters keep running on muted tracks which involve a send, or return, or sidechain in any way. It can be confusing because I think it's important for the brain to see the meters when checking between quiet sources (for example).
My suggestion is to have an option that allows the final meter in a track to act as either pre OR post mute/solo button. Does that make sense?
Or perhaps (easier but not as elegant solution) 'process audio tracks when muted' just controls between the old way and the new way.
I love being able to listen to returns and stuff by themselves, but there's some minor side-effects imo.
Anyhow, congrats on the update and keep up the good work.

I am using the new audio engine, but I have tried other plugins to see if they had the same behavior and waveform does not fail. There must be some bug in Subtractive. They will surely fix it in a few days.telecharge wrote: Sat Feb 13, 2021 7:22 pmIt might be helpful if you let them know if you're using the new audio engine or the old. The Subtractive crash still happens regardless if the new Audio engine is enabled/disabled. [ Linux OS ]
Obviously as Subtractive is an internal plugin, it wont matter about plugin sandboxing.

I would have paid for a W12 update anyway, the upgrade prices are very reasonable...but I'm glad the Tracktion team took the time to bump up stability/engine stuff and polish the UI. Might not be as marketable as a fancy new feature, but in the long run it'll be a huge difference. Refining the existing featureset is exactly what Waveform needed!
Linux version?

On MacOS Mojave with Waveform new version (11.5) i have very annoying UI problem. When Waveform window maximized and display scale (L&F settings) is greater than 100%, the window become resized vertically to smaller size. From top and bottom. And there is no way to make it maximized. Alt-"+" (window header button) makes window jumping. It's looks ugly. Also, if I make window to fit desktop size manually, and then switch to any tab in DAW - window jumps to smiler size again. I very like this DAW, but i have big screen and weak eyes, I need 150% scale. Please, solve this problem.

I have not gone too deep, but the little things seem easier. It is faster to get to the edits as I see them and get it done. I like the updated feel. I am not sure if this is a bug yet, or if I am missing something:
Track 1: Waves Ovox with a vocal clip. MIDI Out On in Ovox - output set to Track 2
Track 2: Input set to Track 1: MIDI. Armed. (Tried both with empty MIDI clip and without)
Hit record (Track 2). No MIDI data comes through at all on Track 2.
If I set the input on Track 2 to Track 1: Audio, I do get the audio signal and it records.
I think I have tried all the stuff besides sends and returns, but I thought it worked this way for me prior to the update. Will update as I go . . .
In general, I am quite happy.

Hi, have you set track 2 to (midi track 2 input)?inkybreath wrote: Sun Feb 14, 2021 3:38 am I have not gone too deep, but the little things seem easier. Midi section of inputs.
I've not tried this on 11.5, but this is how I recorded midi on previous release.
Cheers
I just re read your post, appears you are trying/doing what I suggested, Sorry.

I wanna try 11.5 on my OSX Big Sur 11.3beta test partition.
In Tracktion Download Manager, I sign in with my Tracktion account (purchased several products in past).
Then, I don't see a 11.5 trial version for download in Tracktion Download Manager.
Am I overlooking something ?
Kind regards.

In the download manager it seems to be named as Waveform Free 2021, probably to do with free and pro using the same application?vanhaze4000 wrote: Sun Feb 14, 2021 8:10 am I wanna try 11.5 on my OSX Big Sur 11.3beta test partition.

I have Noticed that shift middle mouse wheel scrolling does not scroll horizontally any more?
I have noticed that ctrl + a in the piano roll will select all the clips in the arranger instead of all the notes in the piano roll, it even does this when the piano roll window is undocked as its own window. Not sure if this is intended functionality?

There is new settings for mouse: Settings -> General -> Mouse.boomt wrote: Sun Feb 14, 2021 4:11 pm I have Noticed that shift middle mouse wheel scrolling does not scroll horizontally any more?
You can set there:
- Wheel: Zooms horizontally (add shift to scroll)
- Over tracks area: Wheel scrolls horizontally
It's will be great if they let us use [Wheel] for vertical scroll and [Wheel+Shift] for horizontal scroll.
If you right click for menu on piano roll editor or on clip in arranger, you will get the same menu. So, it's has the same behavior. But if you will right click on note in piano roll, you will get menu for notes. And if you select any note there, the Ctrl+A will select all other notes.boomt wrote: Sun Feb 14, 2021 4:11 pm I have noticed that ctrl + a in the piano roll will select all the clips in the arranger instead of all the notes in the piano roll, it even does this when the piano roll window is undocked as its own window. And yes, it's little strange
