Please help, I really liked this project.
So I've been working on a project pretty much all day, I go to eat, come back to find that my pc has sleep-crashed and now the project is nowhere to be seen under the Active Projects folder. There's still a project folder with all the folders and such, but whenever I try to open the .tracktion file it just says "Couldn't load the project file".
It also has a .tracktionedit file, and having scoured other forums I'm pretty sure the .tracktionedit file is somehow recoverable. If somebody has knowledge on that, please help.

Try opening the .tracktionedit file instead.
The .tracktionedit file is in XML format and, as such, editable in any text editor. The XML format is similar to HTML in that the information exists between start and end tags, and there is a hierarchy involved. If you're familiar with XML (or HTML) you could try rebuilding it, but do work on a copy rather than the original. If you feel uncomfortable with this, let me know and I'll PM you an email address you can use to send me the file, and I'll see what I can do.
If the .tracktionedit file has become corrupted at all, some of it may be recovered, but that amount could be anywhere between 0% and 99.99999999999%

The project wasn't that big, I was just finishing the first couple instruments, but all that chord information got lost and I didn't write it down elsewhere

I believe there may be someone who emailed me their project file and I didn't get back to them. Apologies to whoever that may have been, and could you please let mw know and I'll chase it up. Cheers.
