How much CPU % is consuming?

Post

Well, on my machine (1065g7), measuring with Reaper, it peaks at around 2.5% with HQ off and 3.8% with HQ on - IKMM's La2a emu in comparison uses 0.6% , Black Rooster's 3a 1.3% and PA's ACME Opticom 2%.

V1.1 (I am hellishly lazy ) of Tube Emulator uses about 0.8% for the '68 Chorus Vibe here.

Is that really too much? It looks like you'd still have a lot of headroom for other plugins and tracks

Other than the T4B, you get some Perkin-Elmer (PE), some Clairex (CX) and some old Silonex (SX) optocouplers, each one featuring different rise and fall timings. VTL5C2 and NSL-32 works great on guitars, since they were widely used in sustainer pedals.
Luca, thank you for the update. I was looking for the quoted info in the product manual, where it was not, and after venturing down the memory hole, in the end I found the most details here in this thread. Please consider providing more background in the manual on the choices in the optical card slots -- model & series, perhaps even just the above quoted details?

Clearly the specifics of the optical circuits is secondary to the attack & release times, given the sortable columns. :tu:

I would welcome a video from you demonstrating how you use LDC2 in series with some of your other plugins. It seems to be woefully misunderstood, if judged by the hatchet job review here on KVR ... doesn't even have the basic facts straight.

To add, I agree with Jens that this is a bit of a CPU hog. Setting Compress and/or Expand to 0 does not reduce the CPU load in any apparent way. Disabling HQ mode definitely does. A means to disable the processing of the Comp and/or Expander would be a welcome feature ... even better if you did it automatically when they are set to 0.
