You can do all of that currently with either track *Receiver devices or modulators. Or be more specific, please.horizon7 wrote: Sun Feb 21, 2021 7:02 pm I wish if there’s also a “send to” device
for midi & audio.
This is useful eg. in a song that has dub step beats or break beats which you want the kick & snare to be used as side chain but each has different effects. in other words this is useful for summing a bunch of midi channels or tracks at certain position in the chain to one track. unlike the track’s send.
It can be used also to control several tracks at one time in case on note fx.
I’m not whether it might consumes CPU or not.
better way for get track to track midi-in, than with the note-reciever?

To be precise one sending device might have multiple sub sends (send 1, send 2 ...etc)antic604 wrote: Sun Feb 21, 2021 8:20 pmYou can do all of that currently with either track *Receiver devices or modulators. Eg. using send device within the track to multiple tracks or specific layers.
Indeed FL Studio has small send device, Live also has but it’s available as M4L device.
This is just an idea no more.

My main issue with note effects is that, for me personally, they're performance/recording-only devices. I'm almost never interested in recording their input.
What I'm hoping for is an easy way to set up note effects on a single track so that they're active while playing or recording a MIDI controller, but what's recorded into clips is their output. And of course the note content of clips shouldn't be fed back into the note effects again. It'd probably require a sort of "recording marker" in the device panel that you could drag around to specify at which point you want your notes to be recorded.

In Studio One there's simply an option to render Note FX to the track, which I think would suffice. But there it only works for native devices.Dionysos wrote: Mon Feb 22, 2021 11:23 am My main issue with note effects is that, for me personally, they're performance/recording-only devices. Yeah a "multiple" "send to" could maybe solve my first ask... (but with the mixer-view I dont need it anymore, maybe other guys......horizon7 wrote: Sun Feb 21, 2021 7:02 pm I wish if there’s also a “send to” device

This is useful eg. in a song that has dub step beats or break beats which you want the kick & snare to be used as side chain but each has different effects.
But, if i got YOU correct, for yYOUR POINT: You can use several "note-sidechains-MODULATORS" in the SAME destination-device(destination-target!) Example: You want (level) sidechain your BASS by kick AND by another percussion/drum element or dozens of them (and you have its midi-datas on separat tracks) ... Just use ONE TOOL in your BASS.... and use ONE Note-sidechain-"modulator" for each MIDI-track-data seperatly in just this ONE Destination-Tool. Now you can form via "ADSR" the "comperssor-attack-relase-treshold....." for kick and snare as your taste with two (or more) independent ADSR-envelopes, each for each midi-track... on the same GAIN_knob of just one TOOL.
Well, you cannot use a group as NOTE_SIDECHAIN-IN (at least afaik) but will you really "sidechain" eg. kick and snare by the same ADSR (or real compresser-settings)???
For me and just for level-sidechain-stunts just a simple TOOL and 1,2 midi-trigger-tracks are better than each REAL (audio) sidechain-compressor... Well, its not for glueing, colorize, other compersser "magic".... its just for level-stunts the best and most controllable and presice way i know...
It tkae some minutes to prepare a TOOL for this and you cannot just "part-preset" it. The "preset" will lost their IN_routings by reacall... So make a better a template with all routings saved....

That would be a handy device... but it is easy and fast enough for me to use 2 tracks to record the midi from Note FX that I only consider that a small workflow improvement. Happy to have that device though if it ever shows up.Dionysos wrote: Mon Feb 22, 2021 11:23 am

I wish that was true for me, too. It ties my brain up in knots to the point that it kind of defeats the point of using these (lazy-person's) devices in the first place. May as well learn to play the keyboard properly instead!pdxindy wrote: Fri Feb 26, 2021 2:55 pmbut it is easy and fast enough for me to use 2 tracks to record the midi from Note FX that I only consider that a small workflow improvement.

For a lot of playing I'm decent... well, sometimes one hand at a time with overdubbing... hehDionysos wrote: Fri Feb 26, 2021 3:17 pmI wish that was true for me, too. But some arp stuff I couldn't come close to playing realtime.
I would like to see midi step recording in Bitwig. With a good implementation that can be pretty fast if you know what you want to play. Not good for happy accidents though

I wish also a feature that is similar to “multi fx selector device” but is dedicated for modulators & those mods can be switched on & off.
Like for example you can use “Steps”
modulator & create several ones & tweak
steps on each the same modulator to create different patterns jumping from “Steps”
modulator 1 Pattern to “Steps” modulator 2 via automation, midi or CC.
Another example is to switch from
“Classic LFO” to “Beat LFO” & so on, this will create interesting variety of modulation dynamics & shapes on the fly.
I usually do the same thing but with the
grid & it’s time consuming that I should
patch each modules & cords them then use modulator arrow to link each device time.
So I have to create a default presets
for those tasks.
But switching modulators freely is more
intuitive & initiative.
Although the Grid planet is a huge but in some cases we need an initiative work flow straight from the modulators.
The current modulators needs to have
a special field for naming tag as constant.
So we can see each modulator name.
This is useful when many modulators
are existing & needs to be managed
hence knowing there connected
devices without having to click on them
each time to know there names.

Select the device that has all your modulators... then in the inspector you can Shift-click on the modulator name to mute that modulator. Shift-click on an individual target to mute just that target.horizon7 wrote: Sat Feb 27, 2021 6:10 pm I wish also a feature that is similar to “multi fx selector device” but is dedicated for modulators & those mods can be switched on & off.

You know modulators can modulate other modulators, right?

Have you tried Parseq8 for that?horizon7 wrote: Sat Feb 27, 2021 6:10 pm Like for example you can use “Steps”

You cannot automate activating or deactivating modulators. What you can automate is the modulator amount parameter. Set it to 0 and the modulator is in effect disabled.horizon7 wrote: Sat Feb 27, 2021 6:44 pmCan it be automated?pdxindy wrote: Sat Feb 27, 2021 6:38 pmSelect the device that has all your modulators... then in the inspector you can Shift-click on the modulator name to mute that modulator.
