Ok, the first one on your list "Autechre". I just listened to "Autechre - 1 1 is".Dirtgrain wrote: Fri Feb 26, 2021 4:04 pm
The Autechre, Clark, and Ochre tracks are objectively distinct from each other sonically (new tracks to me). I only liked the Ochre one, though, to put on my playlist (I do like other Autechre stuff). Didn't know about Ian Boddy and Trifonic--added to my playlist--cool stuff. New-to-me sounds in that Shpongle track (but not grooving with me--I like Star Shpongled Banner-Remastered, though).
sounds like you lack confidence in your own abilitiesDasheesh wrote: Fri Feb 26, 2021 4:59 pm and there you have it himalaya, and i like some of you preset guys. i hear you know what you are listening to, and yet, how can i turn on an instrument that has everything done for me and call it my own? i am struggling with this. i cannot call a song my own if it's all presets. i can program my own instruments, and as soon as i do, someone goes... oh, that's "such and such", well, no, but i'm sure it was already done. f**king useless.
There are people who sit around memorizing presets, and there are people who make music with whatever sounds or tools they have at their disposal. Ask yourself which one is most important to you.Dasheesh wrote: Fri Feb 26, 2021 4:59 pm and there you have it himalaya, and i like some of you preset guys. i hear you know what you are listening to, and yet, how can i turn on an instrument that has everything done for me and call it my own? i am struggling with this. i cannot call a song my own if it's all presets. i can program my own instruments, and as soon as i do, someone goes... oh, that's "such and such", well, no, but i'm sure it was already done. f**king useless.

No, the kids are to blame for everything. And also the Russians. The solution to your predicament is very simple, and goes without saying: Let it go. Use whatever fulfils the mission and ignore what others think or say. The mission here is making electronic music. Right? Why do you care what others say? As long as you are happy with the music piece, why do you worry about others? You will be criticised no matter what. If you were to build your own synth, then make the most original sounds on it, and make a ground breaking track, somebody will come along and rubbish it in one sentence. Who cares. Are you happy, fulfilled with your creation? If yes, then mission accomplished.
I believe you just posted the preset, but you just need a higher resolution version to decipher it.recursive one wrote: Fri Feb 26, 2021 5:23 pm If Eat Static are the preset guys, then I'd like to know how to store presets for this thing![]()
