Default Style not Sticking

I am using MPower synth in Ableton and when I change the default style to Titanium, it still opens up with Neon. If I click the Default Style in settings, it loads Titanium. What am I missing?

That's probably because it doesn't fit your screen. If the plugin doesn't fit, it tries to somehow fix itself. Anyways you can override that in "Settings / Allow style changes if the editor is too big".

It fits the screen just fine and "Settings / Allow style changes if the editor is too big" is already selected.

I change it to Titanium, hit save as default, unload it, reload it and defaults to Neon every time!

I found the solution. I had to uncheck: "Allow default colors by plugin type".

I wonder if this is a bug. According to the help page in the plugin (?-button) it should only the affect the default colors. But at the end it also says : You may want to disable this if you for example want all plugins to look the same including the style and colors.


From the help page:
Allow default colors by plugin type is on by default and makes the plugin select its default colors depending on the type of plugin. Hence for instance equlizer will always be green. This is done by selecting one of the first 8 color presets for the current style, so the actual colors depend on selected style and its presets. You may want to disablethis if you for example want all plugins to look the same including the style and colors. It is necessary to restart your host for a this option to take effect.
