Also explained in the manual (page 43, "Show in Finder / Explorer").

BTW As our manuals include an index and PDF readers always include some kind of "Search" function, such questions shouldn't be necessary. OTOH I'm always grateful for reports about missing or unclear details, and will be happy to tweak the offending manual :)

The waveform and filter animations are kind of a dull blue. I prefer the brighter more vibrant blue.

Getting huge CPU spikes here with this. Same as RePro, but waaaay worse.

Would you mind telling us about your system, which skin you use, which host, format, what situation these happen in and whether the editor window is open, scaled and what preset or features are being used?

Post

Also, have you tried setting Scope etc. modes to “eco” or “fast”?

MBP 16" 2019 (Big Sur 11.2.2). Default skin. Ableton Live 11. VST2. The situation is simple switching and playing presets. Editor window is open, and not scaled (100%).

No. Default Hive as it comes.

Post

Then please try setting it to eco. Right-click into the scope to change the setting.
If you still have Live 10 installed in parallel, it might be a good idea to compare the behaviour between Live 10 and 11.
As 11 is brand new, there is always the possibility that it's a host issue.

After months of using the Live 11 beta, I switched over to the commercial version last night and it was misbehaving my whole session and then crashed, without creating any autobackups or recovering the project or generating a crash pack on restart. Something is definitely up with it...

Edit: I should clarify that it wasn't anything to do with Hive specifically, to my knowledge anyway.
Always Read the Manual!

Eco mode doesn't make a difference. I don't contact support, since I don't own a license for the plugin (I was planning on getting one, but these issues won't let me).

There's something going on with u-he plugins, as no other VST plugins are behaving this bad and my system has always performed very well (as well as u-he's plugins in the past).

Well, we can not reproduce what you experience as of yet. I hope the support team can help you out or at least pinpoint the issue.

try the usual: switch to srgb color profile in your monitor settings. I assume all intel gpus will have problems here with a 10bit color profile.

That should not make any such difference anymore. Our UIs dynamically adapt, even when you move windows from one screen to another. In fact, in some of my measurements the color profiles that did not fit the screen cost more CPU even if lower bit depth.

Ok, interesting. Will retry on my old intel macbook pro then.

Urs,

im wondering about the idle performance of Hive 2. I have a project with Hive 2 instruments only ~40-ish (50) and even just sitting there doing nothing they suck up half of CPU, even the CPU fan starts spinning :-D Is that suppose to happen on Idle?
