Retromod installation

Why is it not possible to choose the folder installation for Retromod VSTs??
The installer creates a folder called Steinberg (which I don’t have) and doesn’t let me choice.
Very weird in 2021...

It's extremely odd. I have a single plugin in C:\Program Files\Steingberg\Vstplugins and it's Collective. I used to make the effort to move it, but eventually gave up. Tracktion can give its plugins to Steinberg if it really wants to.

That's the default location.
You should be able to change it on the way in.
If not, you can change it After installation.
I've put the VST in
C:\Program Files\VSTPlugIns\Tracktion\RetroMod 106
and the Instruments and Samples on my E: drive

You can just cut the dll and paste it wherever you want.
That's all.

This is what I did, but if you’re not careful, you don’t even know where it was installed!

Yes, so it is an advantage if one knows, that C:\Program Files\Steinberg is the former standard path.

...and any updates will go right back in to the Steinberg path, so make sure you remember to move it again after an update. That's why I gave up and just let those plugins be Steinberg plugins.
