I thought Polymode was 29, not 25?

Either way, anything under 40 from Cherry is "buy without even demoing" for me. I'll probably be pulling out the credit card as soon as I wake up on the 15th.

Sounds good!

You should make it Mac OS only, it’s a well known fact that no Windows users like Oberheim plugins ;)

IIRC, the webpage that wasn't supposed to exist said $29. But it also said XXX presets and it was listed in "bundles" so things might change.
Surely there must be consensus by now...

It’s 2002 actually 😀
You make it sound like that’s a bad thing .
If a company is able to survive for more than 20 + years , they must be doing something right .
They don’t choose quantity over quality
Eyeball exchanging
Soul calibrating ..frequencies

It almost seems a bit too "convenient" that CA manages to put out an 8-voice emulation mere weeks after GForce announced theirs. Building their synths on the Voltage Modular framework obviously speeds up development, since it's mostly just a matter of swapping out the various fixed-function blocks to create different synthesizers. For $25, "Generic" building blocks are fine if they sound good, but still one has to wonder how much effort goes into emulating specific characteristics of the originals in terms of filter, oscillators, envelopes etc. Was a real SEM used for reference?
Take a single oscillator, producing a drone. Send it to the wave shaper, altering the tone.
This can be a triangle, Sawtooth or a square. Modulate the pulse width, nobody will care

Nobody can bang out a GUI and architecture/modelling like that in 2 weeks. It's pretty safe to say that they've been working on it for a while, and that the release of the Gforce synths has nothing to do with it.

Good for them though, that they release for Windows, and Gforce only served the Mac people. Couldn't have gone better for Cherry Audio. ;)

I think you have a point in wondering about the accuracy of the model though. It seems like Cherry Audio is really releasing a lot of stuff in short time, and, they have their modular framework (I looked a bit into it yesterday), even with an own programming environment, based on Java. So, yeah, it makes me wonder a bit if all over their stuff is basically same(-ish), instead of "real" circuit modelling, and closely modelling the analog counter part.

Mark Barton did an excellent Oberheim filter for one of his filter modules - if they based it on that it would be something

The GUI does state filter by MRB

OK that could be awesome - so the filter at least will not be 'generic' (in fact it could be better even than the BX one)

after GForce buggers pulled Mac only cocksuckery on me, I'll damn sure get this joint.

it also be like 25 bucks versus hundreds of pounds the buggers ask for Mac only. straight kick in the nuts is what I give them.
