A short while back I reported in another thread that Luftikus was crashing the sandbox in spite of the fact it wasn't loaded. So I uninstalled it. Problem solved.

Until today. Now it's HoRNetVUMeterMK4 crashing the sandbox. It's also a plugin that wasn't loaded. I haven't used it in weeks. I sandboxed it because it was causing crashes, but I also stopped using it. This is really weird. Is Waveform running a scan in the background that loads plugins?

Surely there must be consensus by now...

I can't answer your particular question, but since I "upgraded" to 11.5 two days ago, the sandbox has crashed with *every single plugin* I've used. :bang: It'll initially function, but as soon as I change any settings on the vst GUI - BAM! - the sandbox crashes.

I'm new to Tracktion and recording in general and don't really know what the sandbox does or what its function is. Is there a way to disable it? Failing that, I may have to attempt to reinstall Waveform 11...

Ironically, its supposed to stop the main application from crashing when a plugin does, by running the plugin inside a 'safe' self-contained environment.

Sandboxing can be disabled from Settings>Plugins. There's a checkbox 'Enable plugin sandboxing' pretty much the second-last line of options, right at the bottom of the screen.
An idiot on Set Theory:

I've had to disable it because I find after a plugin crashes often I can't load any plugins

That's what I've ended up doing. I set Tracktion to automatic save when I started using it, so even if the entire thing crashes completely, I've still got a "temporary" copy I can use until I save it properly.
Used it again this evening with the sandbox disabled, and lo! no crashes! 8)
