it seems that Melda Plugins are working great on a touchscreen (windows 10, multi-monitor setup; 1 is a 22 inch (10points..) touchscreen).

i have the touchscreen only for week, or less, and didn't work with it that much, this week i can.

but when using melda plugins, i noticed; no problems, at all.

great.

why, this post? :scared:

perhaps someone has encountered limitations or strange behavior that i didn't encountered yet. (only thing, but that is windows thingy, 3 monitors, the pop-screens always on the main monitor, but melda seems to remember the last time, they were used.. on which monitor, after transfering it to right monitor).

EDIT:

right click, which is holding for a time your finger on the screen, does not seem to work. in MSoundFactory and MXXX quite important for workflow.

EDIT 2: for example in de additive oscilator for MSoundFactory, i can't change one harmonics, without affecting the others, maybe training, but it seems that it holds the right harmonics, others change with them.

i believe this won't be a high priority. but working with melda plugins and a touchscreen, gives a you direct interaction with a instrument/effect.

still getting used to the touchscreen can be my bad.

indeed right click does not work. you don't see the square.

with the slide parameters, or how do you call them, if there are many above and under, they react. and still the one i have choosen, works, so it has it's focus. it seems.

i guess, low priority. but perhaps, you never know... would be great, but already the workflow with melda plugins is faster, than with a mouse.. much faster...

Right click is done with a two finger press...It took a little practice but it works. The only issue I have is moving floating windows around. They tend to jump about the screen and can't be dragged as far as I can tell.

Also dragging the blocks around in the modular designer doesn't always work. I find that resizing the window helps at times.

ok, right click is a two finger press.. ok..

the floating windows! always a problem, never dragged them, until now, melda plugins, or windows or something... seems to remember; which screen, so they pop up on my touchscreen.. you must do it for some windows, drag them to right monitor.. and it works.. and it is remembered. it seems a windows thing, i guess, for other plugins it also works..

never thought about it, also because my keyboard is on front of my main monitor.. i was used to it...

dragging blocks, no problems yet.

but thanks, both for responding, there are touchscreen users!! and with a bit of tips (and perhaps..) we can make the experience better.

all in all i am quite pleased as an extension, of my other controllers, it works. with limits, but, the most things can be done..

Post

tried the two finger approach, and yes it works!
and in other 'areas' it also works. great. speeds up workflow.

thanx @CRAFTMATIX!

so has melda it's own implementation? it seems so. (because i have nog plugins, i believe, that really are touchscreen 'sensitive', accept granurise, a MAX device, only bitwig and ableton can do it, not with plugins, bitwig adds additional stuff with it.., the experience per brand is very diferent..)

still dragging those sliders for the additive generator, i see sometimes no response, sometimes they respond all, can be my finger.. but melda does multi-touch.. you can dial two parameters at once or more..
so me thinks, because of my handling, it delivers multi-touch.

how to keep it in focus?

dragging windows, again, i am using MSoundFactory as the test drive.. eventually all FX, etc, will also show up on the last monitor used. so a bit of work.. doing not all FX, of course.. but that's windows, i guess. although perhaps a program can control it too.

so it seems that melda reacts to multi-touch, see posts above. which is great, but sometimes, you loose focus, no no loosing focus, but other get it also, i keep the example of the additive generator. i change one harmonic parameter value, i must go up or down, and while you see that the parameter that has been chosen, keeps changing, others, go to 'silence', mostly, or another value, sometimes.

i can't explain it better.

i thought i read somewhere (where) that melda plugins, can indeed handle touchscreens.. it seems so.. but still some issues.

Post

Yeah, the multitouch support doesn't really have the classic gestures, yet. To emulate right click, click and hold and tap with another finger, I think, something like that :D
