El°HYM wrote: Sun Mar 14, 2021 6:07 pm I would do a first big buy using one of the above mentioned referral - codes, because that one can only be used once, for the first purchase. Also add the 10 credits from subscribing to their newsletter. Then, like you said wait for the Sales via VSTBuzz & also Plugin Boutique, which both do those pretty regular, to grab the individual ones you want. And I think you are right the Upgrade - prices are only available for single plugins, not the bundles. Or more like Single to single & Bundle to bundle Upgrade, actually.
Thanks for answering!

I already got the Creative Fx Bundle using what you described (you’re right on the money) 10 credits - plus I was credited for an additional “single” efx of theirs in my account (likely free from another purchase) bringing the bundle price down from $310 usd to $277 - that’s about $8 a plug, with 35 in the bundle. The 37 “freebies” were licensed separately for an additional $23, bringing the grand total invested in Melda to $300 for 72 licensed plugs.

I tried using several different referral codes last night - it looks like either I’m having a bit of bad luck (already used) or, as you said: the RC’s only works with the first purchase on an account? That would certainly explain it.

Tried sourcing other discount codes from the internet; many (if not all) claims are clickbait (as usual)

I also got the Essentials Bundle plus some Individual ones, useful tools all of those! And you are right those Referral - codes only work for the very first Purchase per Account; yet can also be used several Times by different people for that.

Maybe the most important question to ask is if the mixing bundle is the “best price” now at -60%/$310; or has it been cheaper then that, fairly recently - maybe this past Black Friday? Btw: Melda seems addicted to 50% offs! lol There’s hundreds of those! And if it is at the lowest price: is there a way of further discounting it with a valid coupon code?

Reuse-able referral codes: That’s actually pretty cool on Melda’s part, imho. Kudos to them! And since you have singles: those can be credited to future purchases -

Shame that they don’t credit you with bundled plugins that will overlap with a purchase, though. In my case: if the mixing bundle would go down to say: ~10% less then $310 because of credited overlap, I would have already bought it.

I almost bought their Essentials bundle - the price is really great right now! It’s a good bundle. But if I buy their mixing bundle: that negates the savings of buying it exactly because of the overlap.

If you log into your Melda - account and scroll down beneath your Licenses, they will show you which Upgrades are available for either single Plugins or Bundles.

The Referral - codes only work once per Account and for your first Purchase, I dont think there are other ones available for later purchases, or at least not that I know of.

How does that gel with this sales forum rule:

Since that One dude spammed all of #kvr with his referral - code last Black Friday, it doesnt seem to be a biggie, as some of those are floating around once in a while in here, since then. Maybe because those are no links but codes, but not sure.

I think that I can answer this, if it’s ok:

The rule addresses redirection links, which someone/an entity would use to market a product or products *outside* of kvr. You notice that a link that takes you directly to a products’ info, posted about here, is fine - even preferable (more info/detail available about the product, usually) - a coupon or referral code is perfectly acceptable (that’s often how you get the discount in a deal) as long as the referral/coupon codes don’t become spam due to the volume of them shared.

I just can't seem to grasp MSpectralDynamics. I like the concept but even after watching some tutorials it seems too complex to me compared to Gullfoss, Soothe and Teote. Bummer because now seems like a good time to get in on it.

You are not alone, as Wytse seemed to have some probs with it too; yet finally towards the end grasped the potential of this spectral beast.

Lol - the “snake oil” guy from White Sea Studio did a video about it a few years ago: without getting too much into the weeds, what this does is allow you to granularly create your own compression curve across the entire 20-20k audio spectrum - ie - you can use it to say: enhance the overall loudness of bass frequencies in a mix and at the same time reduce HF energy - or do the opposite, depending on what you’re trying to achieve in your mix.

Like I’ve learned through this past weekends’ “crash course” in Melda’s catalog: it’s one of their brilliant, surgical tools that’s as deep as you want to go.

Which is also the weakness: if you’re just trying to get sh*t done, the depth can draw you in and be a distraction.

Post

Hilarious! You posted the video before I realized it! Imho he’s an extremely sharp guy - obviously had his mind blown it real time by the goddamn thing!

Back ot: maybe this *is* the time to pick up the plug!

Wytse mos definitely has his good Moments. :hihi: I think the Sale still runs until Monday; maybe just sleep another Night over it, before making a Decision.
