the "just to correct" part is quite a "big mistake" in FL


in FL real skill and using the PR are equally useful don't bound yourself to one of them

We shouldn't be rejecting these things out of hand. As an empirical test, and at great personal expense, I have made some difficult modifications to my knockabout acoustic, to ascertain the importance of (ahem..) 'the length';

FWIW, I played guitar, bass and drums in several bands. Who cares though, because, in 2021, we can draw notes into the piano roll, and fiddle with virtual synthesizers, which is much more expressive than anything I've ever done with physical instruments for me.

I have just spent the last half hour playing my lovely violin and nothing comes close to the expression that can be drawn out of one of those.

And there aint nothing as enjoyable as playing in a band with others in the real world outside. Thats before the world went mad.

No. Really really.

Maybe we mean a different kind of expressive though. What I meant is being able to express yourself through sounds and tones. With traditional instruments, you're pretty much set on the timbres it can create, while synthesizers let you create all kind of sounds, tones and timbres. Of course, to make it as "human" as instruments you physically play, it takes a bit more work, which is probably what you mean.

Anyway, my original point was that I wouldn't disrespect anyone just because he draws notes in a piano roll. There are people who are mad creative, and musical with sythesizers drawing notes into sequencers. And, there are people who are a lot more musical and creative with FL Studio than all of us posting in this thread.

The conversation on the piano roll should really be led by those who rely on it the most. Only with a lot of time and experience can you appreciate the value of things like ergonomics. Dinosaurs using the deprecated technology (keyboards) shouldn't be influencing the development of the new technology (piano roll).

If you choose to remain crippled by your knowledge of music theory, along with the inability to play an instrument, while accepting the use of crutches to move around the musical tapestry, be our guest.

But, unfortunately for you, all the Dinosaurs are the ones behind the scenes making you believe all these new kids actually have talent.

As you are reacting like a 12 year old here then I will say to you "Cool". 12 years ago the Folks at KVR knew what they were talking about of which I thought you were one of the the more knowledgeable ones and of your friendly and mostly friendly and helpful interaction with me over the years here I always thought you were "REAL" muso and a geniunely cool bloke .. I see that now.. when your gloves comes off your true colors brightly shines through. .. I can genuinely say that I am quite started at how much issues you harbor instead of jammimg along with real other musos... and just to be clear at your backhanded sideswipe I did not see you in the light of a rabid clicking email laptop producer but actual as part of our culture club of musicians aka "Dinosaurs"
