Mixtikl Noatikl Wotja 22 Pro Wotja: Generative Music System

Post

Hi all!

In a major - as in very major  - update, Wotja 21.5.0 for both macOS and iOS now includes a full AUv3 plug-in extension.

More information here:
https://intermorphic.com/wotja/21/guide/#plug-in

As you can see, pretty much the full Wotja UI is available in the AUv3, with just a couple of small differences.

For those who don't know, Wotja is an awesome 'generative music' creativity system - a powerful all-in-one creator, lab, mixer & player. We've been working on Wotja (and the various products that have led-up to it) for the past 30 plus years.

As you might already know by now, Wotja is a Universal app, so if you get it for iOS, you also get it for macOS. Both iOS and macOS versions contain their own AUv3 plug-in extension.

I hope our existing Wotja 21 customers are really happy to see this; and perhaps some others who've not yet taken the plunge with Wotja 21 might now be tempted.

We also hope that our past customers who used Noatikl, Mixtikl and SSEYO Koan would be interested to try this out; Wotja is the forwards iteration of all of those products.

Best wishes to all,

Pete

Hi!

The good news, is that Wotja has the latest iteration of the Noatikl music engine built-in as a core technology within Wotja.

These days, we call it the IME (Intermorphic Music Engine), and we keep on improving and extending it. I hope you give Wotja a try, if only for that reason. Wotja can even open-up your old Noatikl files!

Late last year we added a really nice Pattern Editor to Wotja 20, something that we never got around to putting in Noatikl. I hope you like this feature!

Best wishes,

Pete

We're just preparing Wotja 21.5.1, which will add some nice stuff:

IMPROVED: The AUv3 now saves and restores state.
- the AUv3 saves the Mix or User album/playlist file name and latest data; when you restore the DAW project data, the mix / album / playlist (if any) is auto re-opened; but applying / using whatever data you last edited up to even if you hadn’t saved your document.
- if your original document is no longer available, the data is copied to clipboard (so you can import it) and an alert is shown telling you what to do.

FIXED: macOS AUv3 window resizing now works nicely in Logic Pro

IMPROVED: Settings -> Templates - added preview of the templates in this screen

IMPROVED: Table scrollbar colour changes dynamically when colour scheme changes; no need to restart

IMPROVED: TTM seed template changes, and Wotja Play Me mix changes

I know, yet for my workflow Noatikl was pretty much on point. I actually have the new Version on my phone and might also pick up the Windows - version, if it also gets updated. I also read on your Site about why the concept was changed and thats surely ok for me. Also keeping in Mind how long you guys have already been in the Game. So its all Good!

On another note: Wotja 21.5.1 changes - about to be submitted for app review:

I hope it makes it to Windows someday. I miss the SSEYO Koan that I used 20+ years ago!

Do you mean the Wotja App, or a Wotja Plug-in?

The Wotja App has been available on Windows for some time now! :)

Indeed it is! Seeing as there's an AU version out now I'd love to see a VST version. I'd love to process the midi and audio in a DAW...

:) Unfortunately, however, we have no plans for a VST, sorry... that said, you could capture Wotja App audio in your DAW and/or use something like loopMIDI to let Wotja drive 3rd party synths. See: https://intermorphic.com/help/#faq-windows-midi-out

I had SSEYO Koan pro back in the day. I did buy Wotja 20, I used it a few times, but, when I'm in Cubase, the last thing I want to do is boot up another app, so it kind of fell by the wayside and I haven't yet updated to Wotja 21. VST support, would have made it a no brainer.

Why no plans for VST support? There are more DAW users on Windows DAWs than on Mac or iOS.

Hi!

Thanks for asking the question.

For a long time now, we've only distributed our software through the various official app stores.

You can read our detailed rationale here:
https://intermorphic.com/help/#faq-app-stores

Luckily for us, Apple support the distributions of Plug-ins (in AUv3 format) as "app extensions" for both iOS and macOS. That has allowed us to start distributing AUv3 format plug-ins to our customers.

Naturally, if Microsoft were ever to allow VST plug-ins through the Windows 10 store, we'd be in a position to look to develop a Wotja VST plug-in for Windows.

With best wishes,

Pete
