Bitwig works out to $129 per year (sale price which is reliable)... and of course one can skip a year and re-up every 2 years and it would work out to $65 a year.

Of course Logic spoils us! Amazing updates year after year and free. :)

I find Bitwig and Logic a good combo. They each do a lot of stuff the other doesn't. Logic is great just by itself, and Logic Remote on iPad is my favorite controller. Wish Bitwig had something like that.

Oh, I didn't know they had sales that deep. I'll keep an eye out, thanks.

The regular yearly upgrade price is $169. It is only the initial purchase that is $400 ($300 when on sale)

I always buy at the sale price cause you can buy anytime, and the year only starts when you activate it (not when you buy it).

So if Bitwig just released say 3.4 and then my 12 months runs out, I already have the next update purchased on sale ready to activate at the time of my choosing. At that point, I wont activate the new one until 3.5 is announced. So I can stretch the 12 months in that case to maybe 15 months without missing any updates. Of course, my 12 months could run out just before the next release and then I would activate right away.

With this approach, it has worked out to a little under $10 per month for me without ever missing an update. One could also choose to delay activation and go a year and a half or two years each time to keep the long term cost lower.

Thank you!!! :) :) :) :)
I have a LOT of third-party plugins and they all seem to be working reliably on Big Sur/Logic 10.6.x. EWQL Play was the last one I was waiting for and it was updated recently.

Your bigger concern might be your peripherals, particularly your audio interface. Make sure it's supported if/before you decide to update to Big Sur, especially if it's FireWire.

I'm not going to update to Big Sur... on my Intel machine

When the 16" MBP comes out with Apple Silicon, I will get it. That will of course have Big Sur. But I will keep the Intel MBP on Catalina until everything is working natively on the AS MBP.

I am using Logic Pro 10.5 on Catalina.
I am considering upgrading to 10.6.1.

But can I do that without upgrading to Big Sur?
Logic Pro 10.6.1 runs on BIg Sure AND Catalina

Addictive Drums 2 is failing the plugin test on my system with Big Sur and Logic 10.6.1. Same for multiple Steinberg plugins, Groove Agent and Halion specifically.
