Maybe they could get some design clues from the Surge MSEG. A lot of work went into getting it just right (still some work to be done). Would be cool to see things go full circle, with Claes (one of the Bitwig devs) being the original Surge dev.

The 4-Stage modulator has depth, time and curve modulatable for each step. So something like that with more than 4 pointsHanz Meyzer wrote: Sat Dec 12, 2020 3:09 pm I totally miss a flexible MSEG in Bitwig, too. If that was available I wouldn't also need ADSR or so anymore, one cleverly designed module instead. Also the MSEG shouldn't have only statical segments over time, but instead each point's value + length should be modulatable. With the line/bend features of the normal automation.

MSEG implementation I liked is from Image-Line and Serum. The former has a variety of curve types and looping feature. Serum has automatable/modulatable points.

luckily, I still prefer the composing(creating) part in music to the tweaking one, per voice modulation tweaking would be an infinite pit

I basically would never use an MSEG that wasn't per voice... for exactly the same reasonxbitz wrote: Sun Dec 13, 2020 8:39 pm luckily, I still prefer the composing(creating) part in music to the tweaking one, per voice modulation tweaking would be an infinite pit![]()

I'm still on the fence about buying Bitwig but with all the focus on modulation I assumed it would have MSEGs by now.
Considering they already have everything in place to do it, this seems such a low-hanging fruit.

I made a video showing how to use Reaktor Blocks mseg's in the grid. Those can be used to modulate anything in Bitwig. I know it isn't an optimal solution, and I would like to see an mseg just as much as everyone else. But, it is quick and easy to do, and works just fine, as long as you have Reaktor 6.

Bumping this thread. Has a dev ever responded about why there aren't any MSEG modulators in BW? Usually they're pretty responsive but they seem to be absent with this request?

No response that I’ve seen. It’s a glaring omission from the DAW that embodies modulators. My guess is it will come eventually?

Yes Midi Shaper is also good but it's interface is too big & wide. of course it'sxbitz wrote: Thu Mar 18, 2021 9:15 pmhttp://www.cableguys.com/midishaper.html is better IMOGXG wrote: Thu Mar 18, 2021 9:02 pm using LFOtool CC out is a workaround but this is one of the biggest missing features IMO
a VST plugin that we can't map to it directly this shouldn't have to be the same
as a native BWS device.
I like how endless shapes that Midi Shaper afford. but they stop updating it,
it becoming old now.
