It functions with Firefox 85 on a 32-bit win 7.
The gui appeared first after clicking on the link back to your webpage.
The synth resized ok but the keyboard underneath stayed at the same position so it didn't follow the synth.
Leftclick and rightclick worked. Rightclicks stayed highlighted after you changed preset but didn't make a sound with the new preset until you clicked on the note. A chord has to be clicked on every note to make the highlighting go away.
The sound have this overload echo/reverb to it?

Maybe the online Kawai K1 could be expanded if you feel for it.
There's space left to the right of the synth. Put five buttons there. Rightclick three? notes to make a chord and save it to one of the buttons. Then you would play those button chords in a loop. Check those buttons, that has chords, you would like to be looped. Simply start from the top and go down and from top again and you have the loop. Plus a stop button obviously. And a speed selector.
In this way you can jam with yourself by leftclicking the melody.

Thanks for the recent update. K1v is now running like a charm on Ubuntu Studio 20 (using a HiDpi monitor)

Nils, where is v1.20? The website still only mentions v1.19, and when I downloaded what was there and looked at the changelog.txt file, it only mentioned v1.19 also.

Here's some of my stuff: https://soundcloud.com/shadowsoflife. If you hear something you like, I'm looking for collaborators.

The 1.20 update was Mac AU specific, there is no 1.20 for other platforms therefore. All later versions will have 1.21

Any chance to add a filter section?

Wow this is great! It's just that I had a K1 in the day. It's unique sonic charcter confused me. lol I think I had it in a table top version - was there a table top version? What I really liked was the K5! I know, a different kind of thing, but it had a really cool sound to it. Thanks for this! I am now still confounded by the K1 but I'll try and write somehing with it.

If you mean the Kawai K1m (=module), yes, there definitely was, and the plugin interface is based directly on how the K1m looks. :) I still have it in my closet, and it even works!

Already posted this in another thread, sorry for spamming again, but it's Kawai K1(m)-related: I recently booted my Amiga emulator and happened to find this gem from the early-mid 90's. It's the interface for a Kawai K1 editor me and my friend were working on. He mainly did the interface, and I coded the backend (using the Rexx scripting language). Looks a little cramped & pixelated to modern eyes, but hey, this was almost 30 years ago! :D Anyway, so cool that now we have essentially the whole synth inside a computer.

If you hook up the connections correctly, you can even use it to edit the plugin 🙂 I did it with an Atari.

I released 1.23 today. The plugin is now available as VST3 version (all platforms). The VST3 version supports multi channel output. Details here: https://www.nilsschneider.de/wp/2021/03 ... 1-support/

Furthermore, all Mac versions now have native Apple M1 SoC support.

Great work with this!

However, Ableton Live VST3:s sort plug-ins according to maker. Can't find any Nils there… :help:
If it were easy, anybody could do it!

A very enjoyable emulation. Thanks Nils.

I used to own the K4, not the K1. Did the K1 not have a filter? The K4 filter was sorta resonant, which allowed for all sorts of screamy sounds.

Also, would it not be possible to make improvements on how sounds are saved? I've exported my first patch as a sysex file but I can't seem to see my patch name on the synth, only in the file itself.

Looking forward to your K4. That'll be a trip down memory lane for me....although I remember the onboard effects being fairly awful....I think the K4r was better as you had individual outs for all its voices, so could add your own externally.

K1 didn't have a filter, no.

VST3 version doesn't show up here in Ableton Live 10.1.30 Lite and Reaper 6.26 on my Intel Mac with macOS Mojave 10.14.6. Latest AudioUnit version is working in both DAWs plus in Apple Logic 10.5.1.

Who cares? ;) It would enhance the plugin to the moon! ;)
