Based on LinkedIn it's 625, i.e. 8 more since the last time I looked at it 2 weeks ago :D

Compared to 65 @ Reason Studios and 17 @ Bitwig :)

started to count to them but it was boring :D there was post in FL forum
...
It looks like in 2020 Image-Line made a cool 40M
Compared to 2018-2019 Native Instruments with 89M, Ableton with 57M, "poor" Stainberg only 30M and Presonus "tinny" 17M...
and was curious

yes i also want to link to the release notes, and this is just the start...

(and make SIMPLER simple MPE! i repeat it...)

live 11 has become a quite experimental sounddesign environment, for me. it already was, but now with more native devices...
like the way the are headed. spectral + granular (FFT) is the future, the possibilities; endless!

my personal view...

yes bitwig has its poly grid and modulation features. and some more things. i sometimes wonder; people watch venus theory YT video's, are enthusiastic; how many people create from scratch bitwig projects?
the same question applies to ableton; how many people create from scratch ableton projects?
(also own samples..................)

o for the experimental stuff; i take a random vid of this channel;

https://youtu.be/Xnh21hP6tek

great channel. shows that ableton can do it for experimental stuff... (also operator, or tension are quite capable when mangled...)

I've barely used Live 11 since I got Bitwig, but I'm happy to see my upgrade money being put to good use at least :)

I wonder what you mean? Isn't that what all of us - using Bitwig or Live - do?

i wonder how many people work really with all the possibilties, without presets, sample libs. etc.
perhaps more than i assume, that's great!

and by no means, i suggest, that another workflow is wrong, inferior!

but i see people struggle with the simpliest things. o i too struggle, with the simpliest things, because i approach them the wrong way, the complex way....

o well it isn't important. in a way, that is what your answers says.

i only wanted to say, i must take out the question about.., they are both experimental sounddesign enviromnents in their own right. maybe i want to show that, the capabilities... like!;

This is what I've been doing since I started learning music production 16 years ago, it's probably why I only started releasing music last year though :lol:

Most of the people I know who are using either program are doing much the same; designing sounds from scratch, arranging and mixing all in the one DAW. I guess you don't hear much from us because we're too busy getting our nerd on instead of pushing out music :hihi:

:D :party: :hihi:

starting is learning a lot, from scratch.. o well me like, i build tracks from sounds, ad hoc, no templates (because i never know what it will need, or which DAW even.. yes, when the basic sounds are ready, and sometimes i start, or sometimes, it depends on so much, in a DAW. work it out, completely, or change DAW, sample it.. so many steps, me like, so many programs, to mangle..)

but i seem to make some tracks, although experimenting takes so many time, yes.. less tracks.. more experiments.. that work, strangely, also for listeners..... :hihi:

Post

I only recently started using templates regularly as I got a TR-8S and setting up 12 individual audio inputs for drum tracks is a massive pain in the bum I only want to do once per DAW.

Are you safe?

Dillon Bastan's M4L work in Live 11 has caused a few happy jaw-drop moments for me. I worked with Emit, looked at my VCV rack, and went right back to the Inspired by Nature kits in Ableton.
