Afaik it was impossible to run cubase instruments outside of cubase , I tried it many moons ago and more specifically with A1 , no luck .

Someone has cheated for the community. A non-Cubase-crippled version surfaced in December of last year. It floats about the web. It's still grey. I made mine yellow tho.

there was a version about 15 years ago, cracked obviously, but that apparently worked in any host. Can't say it looks interesting enough to try, even back then, pretty simple synth.

32-bit only anyway.

I remember one could download the A1.dll from some sites which offer DLL files for Windows, but, I have no idea if that one was the cracked one, or if someone simply pulled that out of the Cubase SX3 folder, which seems to have worked as well.

It is excellent. The midi implementation is messed up somewhat. I made controller maps for and it wasn't completely solid with some controls not being mapped and some being mapped to the same CCs.

Waldorf A1 synth (Cubase)... forgotten how good it is!
