the first time i fragged my ears was with a curtis filter on a mirage the first day i got it, making drum loops with high resonance sweeps at high levels thru a distorted guitar amp. it took ~ 3 years for that to not disrupt my sleep/life.

the next time  was doing an emergency mixdown on headphones with a hi-res, high pitched basstation part.. oh yeah, kool-aid! f**k headphones, f**k them. like strapping a microwave to your head or a plunger over your ear.

later w/ that, i was producing hiphop in a small room, usually working on te beat and thus closer to the monitors while people were writing rhymes, needing some bass to 'feel it,' hey. at that point i could perceive the benefits of a day off of bass.

~ a month ago, for the first time in a dozen years, i realised i hadn't thought about tinnitus at any point in the last ~ month.. still there, but not always now i guess. so far i haven't associated it with hearing loss.. funny thing is i have the family tv from ~84 which is noisy as hell, about the same frequency.

so just saying again, don't give up hope. when it's a bitch, it's a real bitch.. but it can change.

when i was much younger i paralysed the cilia in one ear, going totally deaf for ~12 hours. that was f**king depressing. had to get high and wear myself out before, fortunately, relaxing and having sensation return..

stress..
you come and go, you come and go. amitabha neither a follower nor a leader be tagore "where roads are made i lose my way" where there is certainty, consideration is absent.
