This, unfortunately :(

Although it might be possible to buy a collection and use the 50% WUP voucher (it's 50% on a bundle) which is slightly better than the 40% discount voucher. Haven't tried that but if that's the case, then the WUP voucher isn't entirely useless.

Having said that, what annoys me about upgrading to the bundles is it's like "adds 6 new plugins" and I've got half of them already from different bundles, which means a) it's only adding 3 new plugins and b) it's not giving me an upgrade price based on all the plugins I own. Hey-ho.

Yeah, and unfortunately, we cannot do anything about it. V-EQ3/4/Comp in my case were redundant in a way since I have them in Gold + RenMaxx bundle. Once I upgrade to Platinum, the V-EQ3/4/Comp from Studio Classics Collection will be redundant. Luckily in this case they were just a bonus for me and I consider the $31 I paid as only for SSL 4000 and API.

Wish we had more control over bundles and upgrades though. Custom bundles/upgrades? Yes, please.

Thanks, yes, exactly. I got a bit excited after seeing the voucher since it was first ever WUP purchase for me (only 3 plugins though, as no point in WUPing plugins you don't use), but terms and conditions are ridiculous. Can't combine any vouchers either. Basically, they are fooling/luring people into WUP by highlighting "you get voucher for the amount you spent on WUP" as a benefit and people will think "wow, that's so generous of Waves".

@simon.a.billington

Okay, no worries.

Now we know, I will repeat for anyone reading:

Don't buy WUP solely for the reason you will get a voucher of the same value. WUP vouchers are useless.
So if I understand correctly, if I buy a WUP for my Power Pack for $13, and get a $13 Waves voucher as a result, I cannot use that $13 voucher at the same time as the CREATE40 voucher that gives me 40% off a bundle upgrade?

No, you can't combine those vouchers - even when purchasing from dealers.

Got it - thanks. Given how often Waves runs "sales," this does seem to make the WUP voucher practically useless.

Bundle upgrade (especially the bigger ones that is a bundle of smaller bundles) is a WUP trap if you later realized you don't use all of the plugins in that bundle but will still have to pay the full WUP cost of the bundle instead of just the ones you use.

Post

Yes. I would not bother about WUP vouchers. Just WUP/upgrade as best suitable after analysing the possibilities by looking at your Waves account. WUP only makes sense for single plugins which you cannot use for upgrading to bundles or when bundle upgrade is too expensive and not needed.

They used to run real sales where the prices were simply discounted, no need for vouchers. So then you could apply your WUP voucher. I guess they figured out that was a bad idea for them and so all their plugins are now sold for "full price" and then discounted with a voucher, which, with the "one voucher per order", means you'd have to be a lunatic to use your WUP voucher!

LoveEnigma18 wrote: Tue Mar 30, 2021 10:39 am Regarding upgrade, my recent example: SSL 4000 + API Collection WUP cost was > $70, even with 25% discount. Instead, I upgraded them to Studio Classics Collection for just $31 and got V-EQ3, V-EQ4 and V-Comp additionally - all V12 with the scalable GUI and WUP for one year. Mostly did this upgrade for the new and truly Hi-DPI ready graphics of SSL 4000 plugins and with some hope that API will be next in line. I am confident Waves will release V13 by this year, and I am covered with WUP until March 2022 for these plugins.
May I ask where you got the upgrade to Studio Classics for $31? I received a quote from everyplugin.com for $34.99, but wouldn't mind shaving a few more dollars off.

Does anyone know the upgrade price from Platinum to Diamond and Horizon bundles?

It would be much appreciated if someone with Platinum could please check their upgrade prices and let me know.

Post

On the site it indicates my upgrade price as;
Platinum to Diamond 91 USD
Platinum to Horizon 128 USD
FYI, cheers

Thanks a lot. Much appreciated. :tu:

So, I will stay with my decision to upgrade

from
Gold + RenMaxx
MaxxVolume
PuigTec EQs
MetaFilter
Smack Attack

to
Platinum

for $93 (better at resellers) then and grab 2 free plugins as the price will hopefully be above $70 after discount. And of course, everything will be V12 with WUP until next April. :)

Diamond and Horizon add nothing interesting or worth useful for me, so it will just be a waste of money. I will stop at Platinum as far as Waves bundles are concerned. If at all needed, I can buy one or two plugins individually in future.

API Collection $599 lol

Good they removed "RRP -> Sale Price -> With Coupon" pricing values. Looks simplified now. No less ridiculous though.
