definitely!
the most successful of those synth/singer duos aren't they? although erasure are still going, but haven't had the hits later on, which psb do seem to have ocassionally.
on single they are the quintessential pop act, but their album work goes beyond pop imo, and live is a major production, goes well in to "art" again imo.

that sounds like im saying pop is something"less" this is not my intention, i don't think that.
what i mean is you go to see the spice girls/beyonce/madge, no matter the production on stage, it's all about "them". but with the pet shop boys, there is usually something more, to see, and they provide the music.

again, nothing wrong with either, just pointing out what i see as a difference.

Any act that mentions 'To The Finland Station' in a lyric is fine by me.

top ten hit in the US the year I was born, due to exposure in a film "The Girl Can't Help It"

she had some big exposure here a bit back from an advert i think? fly me to the moon.
but i remember my granddad playing her records when i was a wee lad.
sure he had a crush on her tbh :hihi:

her and dusty springfield, two women i remember him playing all the time, making sure any tv appearance was seen! (with dusty not julie)
then the beach boys and morricone were two others that got lots of play, all of these i still love too. part nostalgia obviously, but also some really great music! the man had taste! :hihi:
