I sold TRIAD and kept BYOME, could easily have gone the other way but certainly no need to have bothGaryG wrote: Thu Apr 01, 2021 6:10 amYeah, Triad is effectively a three way multi-band splitter with each band feeding an instance of BYOME. The only difference is BYOME has an AGC control in its master section, all the effects are identical. I can emulate this in Reaper (as you can in most DAWs I'm sure) with a splitter and routing the signal appropriately when I want to do this so never bothered with Triad.killmaster wrote: Thu Apr 01, 2021 1:33 am Does TRIAD have the same functionality as BYOME or are inherently different? It puzzles me that they offer that bundle with both of them.fairlyclose wrote: Thu Apr 01, 2021 6:25 am I sold TRIAD and kept BYOME, could easily have gone the other way but certainly no need to have both

I guess being with pluginalliance effectively makes their products close to worthless so may as well bundle them, like an impulse buy chocolate bar at the supermarket checkout. Bulk sales = lower prices. Crazy shit.GaryG wrote: Thu Apr 01, 2021 8:18 amIt puzzles me that they offer that bundle with both of them.fairlyclose wrote: Thu Apr 01, 2021 6:25 am I sold TRIAD and kept BYOME, could easily have gone the other way but certainly no need to have both

Yep. I find it ludicrous that in the current sale you can use the vouchers they dish out to get quality plugins like Sandman Pro and Fault for nothing.fairlyclose wrote: Thu Apr 01, 2021 8:23 amI guess being with pluginalliance effectively makes their products close to worthless so may as well bundle them, like an impulse buy chocolate bar at the supermarket checkout. split within DAW's? the ones i have, most of them can't. i have also reaper and ableton and bitwig, they can, me thinks. and a soft modular. but how you split bands, there are more options in Triad, also effects sound. phase issues, etc. but i believe in Triad, there is no real doc's about, it, but i like that i can do it in Triad itself, in one window. and the extra, modulating, the splits...GaryG wrote: Thu Apr 01, 2021 6:10 amYeah, Triad is effectively a three way multi-band splitter with each band feeding an instance of BYOME. but if this works for you no prob. i have both by the way. mostly use Triad, but still use Byome, when band-splittng (or the other splits..) isn't necessary. i had Byome before Triad came, that is also why i have both. it depends on what you want, with the sales of PA, this sale for some products, you can't get the lowest price, as in other sales (per product sale, for example).
but i am an Unfiltered Audio (and Melda...) 'freak'... so...

That's the crux of it, how you work. I don't do much with multi-band processing so Reapers routing is fine for me. If you do more then I totally see Triad being more convenient.WasteLand wrote: Thu Apr 01, 2021 9:02 am i like that i can do it in Triad itself, in one window. and the extra, modulating, the splits...
I'm sure some would argue you can get more flexibility with dedicated plugins and the DAWs modulators (thinking Bitwig etc) than using BYOME. Sure you can but for most tasks BYOME is a tidier, faster solution for me.

I just made the judgement to use BYOME in bluecat's MB7 mixer if ever I wanted work with it multiband. Hence for me having the two was not really needed and I am in a process of reducing what I have as much as possibleGaryG wrote: Thu Apr 01, 2021 1:12 pmThat's the crux of it, how you work. is there a midi follower (in the MOD section) ?
i can't find one
but imho such a thing would be useful and cool
for example:
"resonator bank" can be controlled/modulated in quantized note values
would be great if they could also be "played" by midi in, sidechain-midi in (from any track)
actually that would be LION's "MIDI input" module...

Deep Reverb's Flush button could use a modulation/trigger input. I'm trying to make a patch that flushes on new audio input and frustratingly the Input Follower could do it if there were a destination.
The other time-based effects could use a flush as well.

I recently purchased this plugin and this is one of the most inspiring vst I have used, they are many good presets already but the patches you can create by your own is infinite. Coming from the modular world it's definitely a good companion for my external gears.
