So, as I thought, it's all about you! I'm a little less self-centred, I can see the other guy's perspective, too. In any event, it's not "I like what you are doing", it's "I like what you did here, with this one specific thing that I am happy to give you money for". I hate Microsoft, they have screwed me over royally on more than one occasion, but I still use Windows because it's far and away the best OS for my needs. I'm not going to cu toff my nose to spite my face.

I'm starting to get excited now, I hope there are no delays. It's a little disappointing this hasn't received as much hype around here as the original, given how much better it is and that the original Uno has established how good the sound is. The original got well over 20 pages before it shipped, looks like this won't get close to 10. Very strange.

I got an email from Pitney Bowes today, telling me my delivery is being prepared. I can't think of anything else it could be other than my Uno Synth Pro so I am really starting to get excited now.

It's called feedback. If it wasn't important, companies would not spend time monitoring such topics on forums.

As for prices, "too much money for me" is one thing, companies mispricing products is another - sometimes it does happen (remember M-Audio's Venom?)...

In fact, companies do change prices after the fact. Akai Force comes to mind here if you want a recent example. Talking about prices and comparing to what else is available at that price may change potential customer's minds. That, in term, may influence the ongoing retail price of a product.

All of which would make sense if this particular synth was over-priced but the reality is that it's an absolute bargain at its current price. Honestly, where can you get a 3 oscillator, two filter analogue synth with all the features of this synth for anywhere near this cheap?

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. That's the wrong question for me. The question for me is more likely to be why would I want a 3 oscillator two filter analogue synth with that user interface at that price? Answer, I don't.

I love my Uno, it has such a great sound and it's surprisingly useful. If you look at the thread for it, you'll see how skeptical I was when it was first announced. It sounded so good on the NAMM videos that I thought the audio must have had tonnes of post-processing. But when I got to try one out in a shop, it was pretty much an insta-buy for me. With cross-mod on the new one, I expect it to be even better and far more versatile. The matrix-editing set-up is so common, and has been for 25 years now, that I don't just like it, I prefer it to a panel crowded with conventional knobs. That's mostly down to the endless rotary encoders that work so much better than a potentiometer that has to pick up a value is it goes past. That's why I kept Uno and got rid of Minilogue. Minilogue was far more frustrating to use, no matter which knob mode I used. I even like using Uno's keyboard and, again, the new one seems set to take that experience to a new level, too. Ditto for the arpeggiator and just about everything else, it seems.

Honestly, I don't know of anything that comes close to this, either for sound quality or features, not even for two or three times the money. I'd have one of these over any of Moog's monosynths, up to and including my bandmate's Subsequent 37 (but don't tell him that) and I expect it to make my Analog Keys obsolete, too. I'd already chosen Uno over Pulse 2 (but only because I have a Rocket for the paraphonic/unison stuff) and Minilogue. I think you'd have to go to something like a Pro 3 to get a better instrument and that thing is eye-wateringly expensive.

What interface? The dedicated cutoff and resonance knobs? The physical buttons for the sequencer an other functions (instead of the touch surface of the Uno)? There is a lot in there, some new, some old. A little bit of specificity wouldn't go astray and the lack of it just makes it seem that you haven't really thought about it at all, you've just decided not to like it. That impression is boosted by the fact that you haven't even had a chance to use it so you are making an assumption about how good/bad it is.

Personally, 90% of the time I use the VSTi to patch my Uno, reaching over to use the physical controls is way too much of a distraction when I'm working. The VSTi is a much better fit in a hybrid workflow. If I'm honest, it's probably the biggest part of why I have kept it and got rid of half-a-dozen other hardware synths. Rocket is the only hardware synth I own without one.

What I've noticed from the videos I've seen, though, is that the nice textured panel of the original Uno has given way to a shiny panel in the Pro, although it's no longer a touch panel so maybe it won't matter. They keyboard area, at least still seems to have the textured surface.
