Perhaps you can use Airwindows NC-17. I use this for live sound.

+++ For FIRcomp. Not only is it one of the best alternatives, it's free.

Fabfilter C2 seems to be very low latency

Has anyone compared Fabfilter C2 to Ozone's limiter?

The Ozone Maximizer? or Vintage Limiter?

Maximizer mainly. If you've used the Vintage Limiter I would love to know your opinion of it?

I use DMG TrackLimit for this purpose and then switch to DMG Limitless when mastering :)

Is there such a thing as a zero-latency limiter vst?
...

Good question!

Not gonna attempt to answer it right now!

However, I do have a folder called '0-Latency Limiters' -
can't find that at the moment. But if memory serves me well...

You might want to look at some of the old Antress plugins. They are quite unstable on a lot of systems. But quite stable on many others. YMMV.

These are the ones that work for me:

Fairchild 670 emulation:

'ModernVFME'

Urei1176LN emulation:

'ModernVSME'

dbx160 emulation:

'ModernVDME'

When I use the word 'emulation' I use it non-advisedly.

It's hard to track these plugs down, but they are out there. I have copies. Some of them got a Cease and Desist I think and then Antress renamed them - Firechainer is one such plugin. I've got long posts on this where I tracked down what is what. Do a search.

The plugins are a bit unstable but work quite well if they work at all - there are also a few youtube videos comparing these with UAD stuff -

Not really to be used in serious projects, but a lot of fun for just f**king about.

Talking of 0 latency 'Limiters' and dbx clones, next up we have:

dlm sixtyfive
based on a dbx 165A

https://bedroomproducersblog.com/2013/1 ... five-free/

Sounds good to me and reports 0 latency in REAPER.

Does that 'Peak Stop' count as a real limiter? Up to you...

Then we have Hornet Magnus MkII. I got this one. Can't ever get it to work. But I'm an idiot!

https://www.hornetplugins.com/plugins/h ... agnus-mk2/

It's a brick wall limiter and it also reports 0 latency in REAPER.

Now these last two are from memory and I do remember they worked quite well. If they are 'limiters' or not, well, you decide!

Aradaz Maximizer:

https://www.audiopluginsforfree.com/aradaz-maximizer/

I used this as a limiter and it does catch all those peaks. Just don't boost the signal unless you want to 'maximize'.

Finally we have TLS Tube Limit - also reported as 0 latency in REAPER.

Used this one as well. It works great.

Fair play to the guy for keeping up the archive after all the shit he got.

...

There's a few more 0 latency limiters in my toolbox, but that should be enough for now.

Pretty sure there was once a TLs plugin just named "Limiter" that was zero latency.
I will check when home from work?

I really do not understand why people even consider to use Fabfilter C2 (as it is a combination of high price and bad sound). Both Ozone limiters are (as well as even some freeware options) by far better.

I like it.
it's extremely accurate, highly configurable, very transparent.
my go-to for actually controlling dynamics (not character) and for side-chaining.
I'm not sure why would you compare it to Ozone Limiter, since it's a compressor.

I actually referred to the limiter, but sure, you are right, C2 is in fact the Fabfilter compressor which I agree is a useful tool. Now, it would be interesting to know if the poster also just mixed up the names.
