Yes that's on the wishlist.

All I want for Christmas Mulab is ARA implementation and a couple of other features.

Is there an ETA for Mulab 9?
I am also waiting for Hollyhock 5 and FL Studio 21.

Hope that in Mux 9 something similar to this will be possible:
play piano like lady gaga on steroids - Bitwig realtime input quantizer tutorial / preset

Kushview Element & VST3
=======================

Hi all

I've come across some postings on this blog regarding VST3 support
in MuLab and MUX, and I've solved the issue for myself using a VST2
called Element from Kushview:

https://kushview.net/element/ (https://kushview.net/element/)

It is a VST 2.4 64bit module that can host VST3 modules, so the way
to go is to open a new MUX module and add an Element module, and now
you can add a mix of VST2 and VST3 modules to the Element VST, and
you can even do a lot of MUX-like interconnections within Element.

So you may use Element as a "Trojan" for encapsulating single VST3
modules or as a host for interconnecting several modules. Element
is flagged as a free product, but if you want to download a built
version, you will have to pay $2 for it. Not a big financial issue,
just a small bump on the road ;)

Bridging to 32bit modules is not supported in Element, so for doing
that you would still need extras like "jBridge" (very fairly priced).

If this "work-around" solves the VST3 issue for a lot of MuLab users,
it may lower the pressure for a built-in solution and cut some slack
for Jo to concentrate on other areas of MuLab development :-)

Best regards to all from
Kurt

Yes, I can confirm this works well as a workaround. :tu:

Go MuLab!

Hello. I'm using MUX 8 with the temporary license and I love it so far. I'm looking forward to purchasing MUX 9 once it's out however I have a question regarding the license. Is the Internet connection required to license the software once you buy and download it?

Post

No live internet connection is needed, copy-pasting text from email is sufficient.

I am doing the same thing with Blue Cat Patchwork.

I wish you the best with working on MuLab 9 !
I'm very excited.
I don't know if this has been asked yet, but do we have a rundown of the possible features yet ?
(Also, this is a dumb, useless request, but I was wondering about possible extended theming possibilities ? Right now it's really basic)

I used to want the original theming system reinstated but enhanced. Now I think MuLab is pretty much there wrt looks. Just needs a few extra touches like the knobs and sliders colouring as previously mentioned.

Looking forward to M9 all the best Jo.

Eh, good point. I was just hoping for the old style of theming, but it's not really needed. This is neat.

One thing that's needed is the knobs need separate colours for the dial and position line.

Post

You can already give them different accent colors. But 100% free coloring per knob template could cause conflicts because when designing new front panels you can choose a knob color and when a part of the knob design would not follow that custom color there can be conflicts, both esthetical as practical (light <> dark).
So the current knob template approach with knobs only being effectively colored per front panel increases the reusability of the knobs. That's also why you can choose a preview color in the preview section of the knob designer.

Post

That light dark issue arises anyway.
Adding a single extra option makes it easier to see the line position. But I understand if you don't like the idea.

It's the same with the rack slider, the line should be a different colour from the knob. But only a minor issue here.
