So far it didn't happen here, was it with wave 1? I will try more. Thanks.
Nope. Wave 2 in mono. Here is an example patch that does it.

I cannot get it to happen consistently, but I can inevitably get it to happen. I just have to keep trying. I had it several times this morning. Again, not always when playing rapidly. When it happens, there is a slight crackle, and the nothing.

I even managed to record the MIDI when it happened to see if there was some odd note combination that triggered it, but on reload and playback, it did not cut out.

As a clue, when I switch thereafter to a poly patch, or switch the same patch to poly, I can get it to play, but not all voices are playing. One voice is just dead.

Also, there is some sort of bug just after a patch loads on a freshly loaded instance. I start playing notes, and I am getting a weird envelope pitch transition on the first note. That goes away thereafter. On the above patch, it happens every time the patch loads on a new instance.

Thanks for the patch and the tips, you are on Mac right?

Yes. macOS 11.2.3. Tested this on the VST in Bitwig, and the AU in HostingAU and Logic.

Hey all!

Update ready (PC & Mac) at same link or ask Richard. Thanks.

What’s new in 0.9.8

- Fixed uneven wave 1 FM amount when “duo” was on.
- Fixed gain loss when “filter” mix was in the middle.
- Fixed DAW crash when GUI was closed with “save” dialogue still open.
- Fixed Sub that went 2 octaves down when AA was active.
- Redefined “AA” into x4”, since it increases harmonics but it does not
reduce aliasing.
- Reduced master gain of about 2 dB, due to the “filter” mix adjustment.
(Therefore you need to tweak the volumes in your previously made tracks).
- Fixed FM buffer that could shut sound off.
- Removed unsaved changed when changing preset*.

*This allow to easily (?) restore the original preset since the
functionality of [compare] will be reset when you switch to another
preset. This also means that you will loose your editing if not
promptly saved into a preset file or in the DAW project. We did that
by request from a number of users.

- Reported bug, reproduced but not fixed so far:
Sinmad playing a mono patch in Reaper on macOS can drop the sound
momentarily, when specific conditions of notes timing are met.

Nice, thanks. Hopefully you can track down that last bug on the list, but in the meantime it's certainly possible to work around by tweaking the note off times. Annoying, but hardly a show-stopper.

I like to share this experiment.
Even though the "wave" switch is not designed for
fast automation (since a "tock" can be heard on switching),
I did that in these audio examples.

As you see in the picture I draw a step
automation to create a pattern of wave sequencing.

C2 note is playing and while the "wave" pattern runs I also
modulate filter freq, plus the "harmonics": both the parameter on knob
and the value using the LFO.

There are two flavors I rendered: one with sample and hold LFO
and another with square LFO.

You can stream or download the mp3 files.

What does the halfway setting for the delay lines "On" switch indicate vs full on? As far as i understand it just turns on the delay line but quieter.

Yes, it's the input gain to the delay line: zero, half, full.
While on the reverb the switch indicates : off , reverb type 1, reverb type 2.

Some notes about the Poly Delay Matrix.

The "poly delay matrix" first appeared in Sinnah synth
as polyphonic 3D chorus and resonator effect.
With "resonator" I didn't mean it was playable
as a physical modeling tuned instrument, rather that each voice,
played by the main oscillator, could have its own tuned resonances or 3D
chorus effect. The delays did follow the note pitch but with
a smoothed glide that depended on the amount of modulation
given by the three random LFO in the matrix.

Since now it's used in the much more complex Sinmad,
[which also has it's own little physical modelling generator
(HIAT/Burst)], this "poly delay matrix" has shown its limits (and
bugs). Looks intuitive that you would want to
use the matrix as instrument on its own now.
Therefore I modified the algorithm to be also usable like that,
however still with some limitations. That's for 0.9.9 next update,
some patience and it will come.

Here I share two examples, one based on a slightly modified patch by
SeBaer (Thanks!) and another patch of mine.
1)
https://nusofting.com/bh35/ResoBassDroneMono-SeBaer.mp3
patch used:
https://nusofting.com/bh35/ResoBassDroneMono-SeBaer.zip
This a mono instrument, best for low range. Due to the use of "sat lim"
effect, the sound is quite distorted and the attack is boosted.
Since the matrix is deeply modulated the sound exhibits some chaotic
behavior [remember the random LFOs].
The "glide/smooth" parameter is fundamental to adjust the transition
between notes.
2)
https://nusofting.com/bh35/matrix_tuned.mp3
patch used:
https://nusofting.com/bh35/chiffon_tuned.zip
This a poly instrument, where a little signal: noise + sub osc +
"pingBootle" burst, works as exciter (trigger) of the resonator
in matrix, which plays the note pitches.
- The exciter signal is bandpassed using the main filter.
- The output of the matrix is cured with the stereo EQ.
Even though the matrix modulation here is minimal, some saturation
in the feedback path still happens. However I like it like that.
A cleaner sound can be obtained tweaking gain and
filter on the trigger signal.

I've said it before, but for me the feedback option makes this totally unlike any other synth I've used. You can induce feedback loops in DAW using sends but they are very hard to control, whereas Sinmad allows you to dance along the edge of madness by balancing midi note length, velocity, and the three synth feedback parameters.

With the ability to load your own HIAT samples, it would be even more fun.
