I also tried to get my freebie, copied the code in the appropriate field during the exit process in the web shop but the full price is still displayed.
Heya,
With the freebie product, in your inMusic Profile page under the BFD3 product there, you can click the coupon button to generate the coupon. Then you'll see a link to 'reedem now' and if you use that coupon as a promo code, the product you choose should be free. If this isn't happening, please contact tech support at support@bfddrums.com

The scanning the content locations is an odd one. Not something I am seeing here, how long are you waiting for the scan?

Amberience wrote: Tue Apr 20, 2021 1:49 pm Yep, the new presets use the existing BFD3 Core Library. There are no changes to the BFD3 Core Library. Good spot on the version number, will mention that.
Cheers, Drew. Thank you for engaging with us here.

I also found that if you don't remove a downloaded library from the list in the Downloads tab of the License Manager, it takes a long time to validate it when you revisit the tab. Also, there should be some messaging letting people know that removing the download from the list does not delete it on the computer.

Also, if you keep your libraries on an external drive and it isn't connected, BFD3 will throw a pop-up about missing libraries every time the VST is scanned.
Thanks for those reports.

The LM issue one I can try to reproduce here. The paths one is kind of expected and BFD has always functioned that way - if it cannot resolve the paths, it wants to warn you about it. This happens during plugin load, and so when a host scans a plugin it's essentially a minimal plugin load operation, which is why this happens. It's not the best UX, but it's not a bug with 3.4 as such. I hear you though! We can look at changing it in the future.

pough wrote: Tue Apr 20, 2021 5:34 pm By the way, does anyone know what this means? It keeps asking me and I feel like migrating non-existent BFD3 stuff (this is my first time installing it) is more likely to cause problems than not.
It appears to be a bug. Funkybot's Evil Twin reported the same thing several posts up. I get the same thing, too.
+1

Now I have to wait for an update to fix a problem that this update/migration introduced, or revert and de-migrate.

Between a rock and a hard place. Sorry to sound negative, but this is highly annoying. Everything was working fine 10 minutes ago. :dog:

Apologies for the teething issues everyone.

If you click 'cancel' on the "would you like to copy...." dialog, it shouldn't ever pop up again. You can import all your user content from your old FXpansion folders manually if you need to. We will get this fixed in a 3.4.1 hot-fix very soon.

Does the installer update itself? I haven't used it yet. Thanks.

With both of the pop-up/dialog issues, there is no way I have found to make them go away. The pop-up/dialog about missing libraries didn't happen during host scans with previous versions.

Not the case here. If I click cancel, it pops up every time I launch BFD 3.4, then proceeds to open the content manager, even though I've set it not to prompt for missing Data Paths. If it was a one time thing, I wouldn't be annoyed at all, lol. :tu:

No bother, I've re-installed 3.3.13.3 into the new BFD location. Works just fine. I'll try the hotfix once it's out. Again, didn't want to sound negative, I'm extremely grateful and excited that there's some progress concerning BFD. 8)

Right, On Windows, to stop yourself being annoyed by the constant nagging of asking to copy files, here's what you can do - please make sure you're comfy using the Registry Editor:

1. Open Registry Editor
2. Navigate to: Computer\HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\BFD Drums\BFD3
3. Check for these entries: FirstRun, fxp2inm_migration, and NeedScan
4. If you don't have them all, create them. They should all be string types.
5. Set FirstRun to 'No' without quotes.
6. Set fxp2inm_migration to 'migrated' without quotes.
7. Set 'NeedScan' to 'no' without quotes.

This will stop BFD from nagging you about copying across old files. I ** HIGHLY ** recommend you still do this manually though. You don't want to lose any of you precious kits or presets that you've created and saved out.

Works wirhout Problems here. Tool a while as i reinstalled the Core Library But even after moving everything to a new hd everything works fine. Had one crash in ableton when i tried to pull the internal midi to a Track But otherwise runs fine. Thanks for the free library! I think i have to use it more often now. In the past the long loading times and some features regarding the handling pzt. me off But maybe some things has changed. The sound is definitely awesome and the rough Edge of it is a very welcome addition to the more polished toontrack stuff.

Should point out that this solved the issues with the nag screen here. :tu:

No it doesn't. Downloads for BFD3 will always be available via BFD License Manager, but there is no auto-update functionality. Yet.

Hi Drew, as a long time user, it seems that I have presets and kits in various locations, i.e. a dedicated custom BFD folder (with subfolders, also from BFD 1 and 2), BFD folders in documents, and one in application support (Mac Big Sur here). It seems that the scanning doesn't find all the files there (or excludes folders for some reason), while others show up twice. I tried to rescan, but I still end up with missing pieces/presets.

So: Is there a recommended way of consolidating all the kit and preset files, and/or the samples, into one folder, without destroying some internal consistencies? I think I need to do that for a "clean BFD folder" solution. Also, it would be fab if the authorization manager would have such a "consolidate all into one folder" option that merges everything to one location and deletes doubles - I guess many long time users will have similar problems, as they moved folders from system to system.

By the way: Do you need bug reports on Apple Silicon/M1 (via the beta tester forum) already, or is that further down the road? I know it's not supported yet, so I don't want to swamp you with unnecessary reports.

TQ
