Waveform grey notes, no sound

Hey everybody,

I just got this program and have no prior knowledge of music or music recording activities whatsoever.
I connected my e-drums to the pc and when I hit the pads I do hear sounds with the default plugin, but when recording it only records grey notes that don't play any sound when playing it back.
I can click on the track and it adds orange notes that do play sound and can be edited.

Maybe there's someone here that knows what's going wrong and how I can change it.

Thanks!

The notes are either muted or zero velocity. Select them and look in the actions window. You should have an option to set the velocity or unmute them.

... or of "0" duration ? This could be a setting in the E-drums - like a minimum note duration?

Thanks for the replies.
I couldn't select the notes, but when I added a note by clicking on the track there was an option to select all notes.
When I had all notes selected I increased their length and set their velocity higher and now they do play sound.
Where would I be able to increase the default note length and velocity of the e-drums when recording notes?

Do the E-drums not have a setting for sending MIDI information, like event length?

Sorry for the late reply.
I looked in the manual, but I couldn't find anything regarding event length(I have the Millenium MPS 150X)

sounds like there is a VST out there called chordz that could allow this to be configured...
Set to one note only, and the delay for the OFF event is programmable.

The Millenium manual doesn't show how to alter the MIDI event duration, so if it's of a few millisecond duration, won't work well. If you click on one of the "grey" notes, how long IS the default note duration sent by the eDrums ?

PS - you don't happen to have quantization enabled (in Waveform), that might be shifting start/end times a little, so a short duration note might end up getting "snuffed"? There's a little MidiOX program out there that might prove useful for TROUBLESHOOTING purposes. With Waveform NOT running, load this little utility, and set the MIDI In; and monitor that MIDI interface. It will give you details on every MIDI event coming through, so you can see note events coming through, including the NoteON and OFF messages, and the velocity of the ON events as well.

The default length is 000, so when I select them all and make them bigger they do play sound.

As above, verify no quantization going on. If an event occurs from time 0 to 5 but is quantized, it may show up as 0 to 0, and give you an "empty" note duration. Or, there is a "hidden" option in the drums to set note duration... ?
