You can sort of do it: in the matrix assign the 'Random' source to the 'Panorama' destination, and each voice will get a different pan valueVortifex wrote: Tue Apr 06, 2021 4:18 pm Is it possible to modulate it so that each new note plays alternatively between left and right, like the Flipflop setting on Icarus?

Here is a little teaser of what you will be able to do with the users skins feature. This will obviously only be an unofficial skin, so it wont be included with Viper but I will upload the skin somewhere.

Thanks adam! very nice skin
Tho small notice: Only Master & Adam Szabo Viper backgrounds (rectangulars) could be darker or just use wood texture like virus control has at the bottom

Thanks for the tip, I already played with that idea but it didnt work out. You can ofcourse change it to whatever you like when the skin is finished. But if you do a mockup now and it works, I can make it properly

Can you Adam make a skin, where you have all the possible knobs in single page, like Sylenth? I found Viper layout really, really unintuitive. It just breaks the flow, when you need to hit all the "osc", "filter", "lfo" tabs million times. All these in one page, would be super really nice and way more intuitive. Tbh, this is the only reason why I don't buy Viper. It just makes you angry with all this browsing with different tabs all over again. Thank you!

Unfortunately thats not how the skin will work. The skin only replaces the graphics, the layout will be the same. By the way, even Sylenth1 doesnt have all the knobs on one page, you have to flip between Part A and B for the oscs, and you have tabs for its effects as well. Im sorry you dont like flipping between pages, then you would hate the Virus Ti as well, because it works the same way.

I usually hate tabbing in synths but it doesn't bother me with Viper. I think it's because the tabs themselves are enormous and so it doesn't feel fiddly at all.
Looking forward to trying the new skin feature!

Yeah, you need to tab part A and B on Sylenth. It's okay, because you can just copy paste things fast. And it has pretty much all the essential knobs in one page. Filters, osc, envelopes.adamtrance wrote: Sun Apr 25, 2021 7:47 pm Unfortunately thats not how the skin will work. The skin only replaces the graphics, the layout will be the same. So can you put at least the filter section same page as osc section with all the envelope controls? That would help a lot. Not everything need to be copy from real hardware, usability should come first. So, can you even think about making alternative layout?

I don't think the issue is really the tabs here. It's rather that having oscillators and filters (for example) on different tabs makes the operation less immediate.
I don't use Viper, but, that was the major thing I notied with the operation.

I always found the layout of Virus Control plugin to be very logical. First you set up the oscillators, then the envelopes and the filters, then assign LFOs and stuff. Basically the tabbing logic follows the patch creation logic. Viper GUI has the same structure and I think it's equally easy to understand and to program.
Actually most synths with reasonable amount of complexity have tabs in this or that form: Serum, Spire, even Hive2.
The only thing I never liked about both Virus Control and Viper is that the hardwired LFO assignments don't show up in the mod matrix when they are used - thus when reverse-engineering a preset it's often necessary to look up for the LFO assignments in two separate tabs - that's probably the only case when the tab sturcture may be a problem.
