Considering upgrading to latest Melda now, but not sure if my version 10 plugins can work?? Looks like help advised not to upgrade, but maybe.

I guess that most things should work. There was some greater changes regarding automation handling from ... 10 to 11 I guess? But anyway: you can just try to install the newest version and see how and if it works. You should be able to rollback, I think: Melda v10 Archive

Take a look at the page here to see what what's not backwards compatible from V10 to V11 and to V12 https://www.meldaproduction.com/release-notes/11
https://www.meldaproduction.com/release-notes/12
Also make sure you're system is still supported.
Also, V15 is coming soon, so maybe wait a little bit longer.

Guessing v15 may fix some compatibility issues if they are working on it. But some plugins like MEqualizer were rewritten from scratch.. If automation compatibility option solves the problem maybe there should be minor difficulties if any.

It should work just fine, backwards compatibility issues are very rare here (just make sure you enable the automation compatibility mode in your case).
