Not sure about expansions sales, but I noticed on the site an offer to upgrade from Eco to full BFD for $49. I’m tempted, but want to wait for a bit til things are a bit more stable.codec_spurt wrote: ↑Mon Apr 26, 2021 10:18 pm FXSpanktion!
Held off on installing BFD3 and all the packs I got till this gets sorted out. I've never had any problems before, but I've not installed on that many systems. And very rarely installed everything I've bought.
I'm a big fan of Eco as well but I only realised the other day I didn't have the 64-bit installer which costs a few quid to buy. Fair enough. I'm holding off for a sale since I mostly just buy hardware now (Akai MPC One - being latest one - hihi inMusic) - not sure if that would be included or not in a sale but whatever, there's still a few Geist and BFD spankers, sorry, expanders I want to get. Holding off for now.
When all the fuss dies down and a sale comes up, I'm gonna bite!

Anyone knows when does the upgrade offer (49$ from ECO and previous BFD) end?
Thanks,

What about BFD3.dll which is in my vst folder but any of my DAW can't scan it, so there is no BFD3 plugin in fx browser? And when I launch standalone version it just crashes.Amberience wrote: ↑Mon Apr 26, 2021 9:32 pm Hey all,
I'm sure there will be an official communication at some point, but a few bulletpoints:
- We've hit some technical snags on getting everyone the Eldorado and London Sessions packs. But it will definitely happen. We're also going to make it so that migrations moving forward will get those packs automatically - watch this space.
- Same as above, but with the Zildjian Digital Vaults. Vol 1 pack to replace the SP1/SP2/ZP1 packs.
Just wanted to give everyone an update.
- There is a BFD 3.4.1.x build in progress that will address:
- Sluggishness on start-up.
- Expansion packs not being available when offline
- License Manager failing to connect to the internet sometimes
- Migration of user-files being broken, not copying all files, and being executed even on clean systems without prior installations.

My main beef with the new version is that it requires you to be on line. It does not work offline owing to the License Manager. What kind of music software does this? My music computer is off line when working on projects.

I agree--this is a serious problem that should be corrected, and it is literally the only music software I know of that does this. I really hope they straighten all the license manager stuff out--the current licensing system is really bad, bad enough that I purged BFD from my machine rather than put up with it.silhouette1 wrote: ↑Tue Apr 27, 2021 9:48 am My main beef with the new version is that it requires you to be on line. Why'd you slice off my hand?

Heya,
Could you give me more details please? Which DAWs are you using? What is your setup? Do you still have the FXpansion version of BFD3.dll kicking around? If so, try removing that and making sure you only have the new 3.4 version installed. Have you tried clearing your DAW blacklist? Sometimes that can help.
If you can give me more info, I can diagnose a bit more thoroughly. Cheers!

Yes it was pretty terrible. A support agent told me that the developers are set upon the online model and I think that it is up to all BFD users to complain about this. I live out in the country and the internet often drops out. A great many musicians work upon projects with the internet off.
It to me ages to get BFD 3.3 back to a useable state and even now there are some kits that just won't appear properly.

Amberience while you are here what is the official position about using BFD3.4 offline. Is this a thing? Or is it a by-product of licensing issues. I have to say that I will move on if online working is here to stay.

I've raised it. Will follow up once I know more.silhouette1 wrote: ↑Tue Apr 27, 2021 12:57 pm Amberience while you are here what is the official position about using BFD3.4 offline. Is this a thing? I was 100% with you that forcing users to be online 100% of the time is a fair ground for complaint, until this wholly unnecessary attack on anyone who has a different workflow from you. What did this add to the discussion? Simply saying "I prefer not to have the internet on when I work, and believe that many other producers feel the same way" would accomplish the same thing, without insulting others' working practices.silhouette1 wrote: ↑Tue Apr 27, 2021 12:54 pm ... no self-respecting musician lives in a place where there's no internet. we can all play this game, but yeah, this was indeed uncalled for.silhouette1 wrote: ↑Tue Apr 27, 2021 12:54 pm I live out in the country and the internet often drops out. I don't know what to write here that won't be censored, as I can only speak in profanity.
