Sonicstate video, the KORG guy feeds the XD in to the NTS-1 and this little thing is worth the money just for the FXSLiC wrote: Sun May 09, 2021 6:03 pmWell, that is a hell of an endorsementrob_lee wrote: Sun May 09, 2021 5:52 pmTried mine with a power bank as well mate works absolutely fine would indeed be ideal for portability. I'm just online ordering another NTS-1 lol for FX purposes onlySLiC wrote: Sun May 09, 2021 5:33 pm Also thinking of sticking this on the bottom of the case for portability!

Nice
This one blew me away- this guy has turned the NTS-1 into a DW8000 and has got 2 oscillators out of it!
He has also made Prophet VS oscillator with 16 waveforms and full X/Y!

Mine turned up, still haven't out the sides on...just pushed the 2 boards together and stuck the mini board on (you just slide back the little black sides on the socket and it it pushes in then push them back to lock- that bit takes about 5 minutes and then I just plugged in and played! Sounds great (especially the fx) and the arp is surprisingly capable! I had pre-installed the little VST editor (pretty cool it came with some patches) and it worked perfectly (in Bitwig) showing everything up for modulation in the rack.
I'll put the sides on latter, for now- playtime

Quick update-
Battery pack (a tenner) stuck to bottom with some double sided tape - adds 4mm but now portable
Battery pack and size make it ideal for using as an in line patch fx for eurorack...
As expected, it is a superb partner for the Uno...2 analogue oscillators with filter/lfo etc, one digital oscillator with filters/lfo etc and amazing stereo fx...and everything can be controlled by VST editors if you want or it can all be stand alone! A lot of synth for under £200
Uno output to the audio in- midi out from Uno to in on NTS 1, stereo out from NTS-1 to mixer- simplez
I didn't have a mini jack to jack to try just a simple cable, had to make a midi socket to plug with the respective jacks on due to the UNO having a stupid non standard jack size!
I am assuming something like this would work as aa direct connection- anyone tried? https://smile.amazon.co.uk/Jack%EF%BC%8 ... 212&sr=8-3

Feels like the missed an opportunity to address a few of the most wished for features on the MK1, but it is still a great little FX Box (lives on my Eurorack!), its a minor upgrade and the fact that it isn't backward compatible may make it less desirable (no Sinevibes stuff etc)
The NTS-3 is more interesting!

Lack of backwards capability might seriously hurt the Mk2 version. But it will allow for far more powerful effects/instruments. It all depends on whether sinevibes and others push out their high quality stuff on them. Also, may as well get the drumlogue with its better input/outputs for that price. Not sure what is going on in the Korg sales department right now. Probably a lot of substances.

I did get the drumlogue in one of those 'give it away' sales, its actually a great drum machine and I like the analogue sounds...I found a few free 'logue packs for it as well (including a Mutable Instruments Braids pack!), but it wasn't as well supported as the NTS-1...again it said it was 'more powerful but not backwards compatible' but I am not sure if duologue and NTS MK2 are compatible- they cant invent an SDK and then have dozens of non compatible versions of it and expect uptake!egbert101 wrote: Fri Jan 19, 2024 11:36 am Lack of backwards capability might seriously hurt the Mk2 version. Pologue, Minilogue Pr xd and NTS-1 were I believe the same SDK, I suspect that is why developers bothered (big Pologue, Minilogue user base)

Pretty sure they're the same. The article did speculate they were. So you may do good by keeping it if there are high quality effects coming down the road.SLiC wrote: Fri Jan 19, 2024 11:47 am I did get the drumlogue in one of those 'give it away' sales, its actually a great drum machine and I like the analogue sounds...I found a few free 'logue packs for it as well (including a Mutable Instruments Braids pack!), but it wasn't as well supported as the NTS-1...again it said it was 'more powerful but not backwards compatible' but I am not sure if duologue and NTS MK2 are compatible- they cant invent an SDK and then have dozens of non compatible versions of it and expect uptake!

And I think if we continue speculating, perhaps there is a mkii version of Minilogue XD in the works? Imagine 8 note polyphony and the new multiengine.
