I'm fairly familiar with the ins and outs of mTurboReverb now, but just digging into mConvolution. If there's a proper tut for it, I've missed it, but as usual, there seems to be more going on under the hood than I realized.

What exactly is going on with the "reverb" tab within the "filters" portion of the "band" section? The manual mentions that it uses MORE cpu than an algorithmic reverb which seems odd, but I'm not seeing that on the cpu, and manual doesn't give much detail.

I'm confused as to why when I just click on the reverb tab without changing any of the settings, the sound changes. Shouldn't it just be the basic IR if I haven't changed anything yet?

Since I like some of the IR's for drums in particular like the "fat short snare" room, and the "small impact" and "small percussion" halls, and haven't yet figured out how to properly dial them in, are there some best practices for attempting to recreate something similar via algorithms in MTR?

I've already scanned in dozens of IR's to create an ER library, but specifically interested to hear any tips or trics for how to to create algorithms that generate LR's similar to those particular IR's.

I don't understand your question I'm afraid. Anyways the selected tab controls the actual IR. File means an IR file obviously, Reverb tab produces some IRs algorithmically, and Filter is just a bit of an scientific perk - it lets you create filters with super-extreme slopes.
