How do you route a single drum from the drum sampler?

You'll need to wrap the Drum Sampler in a Rack to route the outputs to different tracks. You also need to set the various pads in the Drum Sampler to route to, for example, stereo out 2, 3, 4, etc. Once the kick's audio is going through its own channel to its own track, you can use the track as a source for a sidechain.
Surely there must be consensus by now...

Yeah, i figured that out eventually, the way you set the outs in the plugin is so counter intuitive, and you have to do it per-layer per-sample, so i had 5 layers for my kick, had to assign each one individually to a specific stereo out, and then wrap the plugin and find out that Stereo out 5 = discrete 9 + descrete 10.pough wrote: Wed May 19, 2021 4:06 pm You'll need to wrap the Drum Sampler in a Rack to route the outputs to different tracks. There doesn't seem to be a one-size-fits-all situation for plugin outputs, so I guess they just opted for flexibility and make you figure out what works for each situation. While I love Addictive Drums, their outputs are mostly (but not all) mono and that just makes things weird.
I'm not sure what you mean about the Drum Sampler. From what I can see, each pad can have multiple layers but the output setting is per-pad, not per-layer or per-sample. Maybe you're seeing something I'm not?

The only way to route pads that I've found is through the Zone tab, where you see all the layers/samples per note, and there i needed to select each layer and set it to output to a stereo out. I might be doing it wrong but i played with the Drum sampler for hours and couldn't find another way.pough wrote: Wed May 19, 2021 5:30 pm There doesn't seem to be a one-size-fits-all situation for plugin outputs, so I guess they just opted for flexibility and make you figure out what works for each situation.
