I've been wanting a Vult module for a while, not really into the digital stuff though. This
one fit the bill for me, even tho it's another pre-order and I have to wait a couple months for it.
nice!
theres a part of me that feels i should own a vult module, just for the name being so close
sadly at the moment, funds are reserved for other bits, but that looks very cool! 8)
Yeah, this one was pay up front as well, if it had been much more than it was, I probably
would not have done the insta-buy thing.

Checked out the thread on MOD, and watched his video on it. That thing is crazy-cool!!! :D
Yeah, I thought so too. I actually just reserved a spot for the next module as well, the "Delta Quadrant" though, he's not really taking orders on it just yet.

just signed up to a kickstarter.
A eurorack module based on Xfer Serum.
Evidently you can load wavetables into it from Dune 3, Serum and Vital...

Nice, I saw that, it's pretty cool. I'm funding 2 projects already which is my limit. I've been pretty
satisfied with the last couple I did though. A great way to get a good deal and help them along
imo. :tu:

Having researched his builds further, I'm really blown away by the 'tone' of his stuff. There's a super rich vibe to it. I hesitate to say "moog-ish", but there's that-kind of 'signature' to it... at the very least, BIG-ish, well defined, and 'spacious'. Definitely has 'presence'. 8)

I saw that pointed out, and being discussed on Sonic-Talk also. Seems a reasonable price-point for what it is, but way too menu driven for me. Doubtless, will be a tempting "easy-step" into the Euro-pit for many who've held back, since you can just play it (near-instant gratification) without knowing much else about the format. With Serum, Dune, and Vital as buzz-words, there will be need for much

Admittedly, my attention and interest in (the potential of) the eurorack phenomenon was peaked with Waldorf's 'wavetable' offering (which regrettably, I have to this day, not heard even ONE decent demonstration of its potential) having had two Microwave Xt's, and lusting for a Waldorf Wave  . Then Roland, and Rossums entry into it, as both have a heritage in modular, which I was exposed to in the 70's... so.the.obsession.began.

I wanted to be in this thread again, because peer pressure. So I bought some Tesseract stuff. Sweet Sixteen Mk2 with gate expander, and their dual logic module. Wound up cheaper than kit equivalents (Befaco VCMC, Frequency Central Logic Bomb) that I'd been mulling over for ages.

Got a cheap 88 key MIDI controller on its way arriving Monday, a Nektar LX88+ as I want something full size, but easy to shift off my desk when I need to use it for work. £207 so I’m not expecting a work of art, but reviews suggest it’s perfectly functional, good enough for me. Not a pianist so a new hammer action board would be an unnecessary luxury.

In the interim I’ve brought my old 61 key Roland A-800 Pro down from storage, forgotten how much I liked its keybed and action even though it’s’synth action’ it’s not flappy at all. Keys and side controls like octave buttons work fine, but the knobs and faders are shot otherwise I may have just stuck with it long term.

Are you safe?

Hope you enjoy your LX88+!

I've got another question that I'm getting a bit stuck on.

I'm still at an extremely early phase here, but for a 7u 104hp case, is there anything better than the Intellijel offering?

I know Make Noise has its own, but instead of the I/O capability, it has a powered bus. The biggest plus I see over Intellijel, is the sliding rail system.

Is there anything else I should look at instead? I'm looking at something that can be put away, so these cases are definitely appealing.

As mentioned this is very early. I'm also considering starting with the 84hp version since this I see how easily this can grow, and I think it'd be easier to work with x2 cases of 84hp than the x2 of 104hp.

I have an intellijel 7u case in black and it's okay. Lots of power. It feels flimsy when it's not loaded up but once you have modules loaded, it feels sturdy. I ended up replacing the power distribution in mine but the TPS-80 is pretty good all things considered.

I was going to recommend MDLR but it looks like they have a 7Ux94HP and a 7Ux126HP case but not 7Ux104HP. :-? You might contact them. Arjan is very responsive.

94hp might work too (especially since my needs pretty much only exist on MG right now). I'll check them out!

I ordered my 14Ux126HP case from them directly but I think they also sell through dealers.

@elxsound you should look at the mantis or similar, those mdlr cases are nice, but 3x the cost or more. I guess if money is no object.

I just make my own

*Sry, those cases are top notch no doubt. If you don't mind the cost of them. :tu:

I've built my own cases and I've used cases from a few different manufacturers. Doepfer, monorocket, Enclave, Pittsburgh modular, Make Noise, Intellijel, Arturia and MDLR. The only one I didn't like was the Pittsburgh case, but they no longer use the same coating that peeled off the case I had.

I loved TipTop's 252 case, a good friend of mine has one of those. I wasn't really impressed by the Mantis. No experience other than checking them out at NAMM and at Perfect Circuit. They are probably fine.

I don't have much confidence in cases I've built myself. My 416HP DIY synth is in a DIY case which is sturdy enough but I definitely wouldn't use it outside of my studio.

In any case, it's always best to consider the available options and what is best for your own budget/needs.

I don't let not buying stuff keep me out of this thread. I need a case though. Damn the cost annoys me, always has. I want something that is minimally road worthy, i.e., it has a cover that closes reasonably tightly. Not watertight mind you, just not roll off while sitting in the back seat loose.
