I tried SoundToys a couple of times, but they sorta feel dated. Cool, but nothing that really sold it to me.
Little Plate is something of a standout though. Their GUIs definitely make them seem dated and I'm not a fan of their resonant filter plugin.

I do have BRA RO 140, whatever how it compares. I barely use it tho, more never.

Poor plate

Seems to fit anywhere I put it

If anyone could put a GUI for it's parameters , that would be awesome.
Don't trust those with words of weakness, they are the most aggressive

Their delay is really really good. I love it more than Echoboy. Beside doing the usual delay stuff, you can use it as a strange effect using pitchshift/ghost mode and do some creative, out of this world sounds. Also, the diffuse control just gives it another dimension, if you turn it all the way up it will sound as a reverb. My favorite mode is BBD Duck. You should try the demo if you haven't.

Knock it off--you are tilting me.
Doing nothing is only fun when you have something you are supposed to do.

For versatility I think the best is VVV which is mentionned too much already. But I find in general each reverb shines in a particular context. Got some Exponential Audio verbs recently and they seem to have a special sound to them, the mids are somewhat pushed into the background in a way that adds a dimensional quality that's cool and unique, it's like the Dimension D of chorus but for reverbs.
My top would be something like this: 1 VRoom (full and meaty) and LittlePlate, 2 PhoenixVerb / R2, 3 VVV, 4 Tal reverb for extra-large stuff. And of course the DAW reverb which is always awesome for grainy snares and special effects :)

Glad I spent only $11 (on reverbs) after all this discussion.

Batteries and iLok fees not included. See your local dealer for details.

When I can afford them (/can afford to spend $700 on reverbs), I think it’d be amazing to be able to throw any of the Relab bundle, Cinematic Rooms and MTurboReverb (largely for the ERs) into a mix and see what sounds best.

Hmm, I appear to be leaving out 7th Heaven and the 2cAudio line; maybe them too. $1000?

Ahem

What is the best reverb? Or optimal selection of them? To cover the most “ground”, you know?

:)

Well, fortunately in this case it was an unused serial number, so yes, only $11 for NIMBUS. :)

Well, there is a really good offer right now on iZotope's website - Phoenix Verb, R2, Excalibur, Ozone Elements, RX Elements, Nectar Elements, Neutron Elements, Stutter Edit 2, Trash 2, BreakTweaker Expanded, Iris 2, all for just $49 - https://www.izotope.com/en/shop/deals.html

I think it's really worth buying if you don't have R2, Phonex Verb, Excalibur, not to say Trash 2 is amazing, Ozone and Neutron too.

I would buy it. If I hadn't all the plugins in it already. :P

I spent $60 on Nimbus and R4 together, and I’m happy I only have to worry about one redundant Phoenixverb freebie. With the frequency of sales on the EA verbs and giveaways on the elements, not sure I’d recommend that frequently-sold bundle. I got everything in that bundle for free besides RX, and Iris which I paid $8 for.

Certainly when it comes to the elements plugins, their feature set is limited enough that it’s worth the wait for them to become free, as there is already plenty of freeware that easily surpasses their capability. If you have an immediate cheap upgrade path available, or really want RX/Trash + Iris, then it’s probably a worthwhile purchase.

$11 for Nimbus is quite a steal... quite...
