In this video I'll show how you can make a high gain amp in MTurboAmp. I tired to show the basics of how to make a high gain amp and hopefully in the future I'll show how you can polish the sound. I think this will show you how you can create your own amp and alter it in various ways to achieve the sound you want. Hopefully you find this useful.

Wondering when we are going to get the official release.
Getting tired of the demo making hissing noises at me and we have no option to buy other than getting CompleteBundle or pay the Monthly service fee for everything (don't need to go either route as I have a good portion of the Melda plugins I need already). However I've been looking forward to this one.

78deluxe - Hopefully not too much longer. I've been trying to make a lot of new amps and getting a variety of sounds included. Before there were only about 4 amps, but now there should be more that work for a variety of styles. I don't know how much longer it will take though. If you've tried the demo would you mind giving some feedback? Which amps you liked and which don't sound so good.

Here is a start - I got annoyed again with the demo hiss - to the observations are general.
Houston - good tone and response, mid boost nicely voiced
Amp SAG control - only "ok" Doesn't impact feel + compression quite in the way I'd expect. Could allow for more dynamic range at the higher settings.
Kensignton - LIke the tone and voicing, but Dynamics are lacking. Boost/No Boost works well to expand the range of the amp. SAG seems better on this one than Houston
MCM 800 - general voice is good but I don't find the harmonics/saturation and response to pick attack all the convincing for a high gain marshall.
Meldano has was more gain on tap than the real Slo-100 I've used. The lower gain settings don't have the right harmonics/gain however mid gain (say gain around "4") starts to sound more like the gain/crunch I expect from this amp. Not the best emulation of this amp - but I'd agree some of the tone and cruch are in the ball park at mid gain settings and since I know the goal here isn't really emulation but to get certian flavors, I'd say it offers some of that. I would say the entire range of gain on this one isn't my cup of tea - there are sweet spots that work where others don't.
Midwestern - nice Dr. Z kind of tone. Love most about it, but think it could do with more dynamic range if you turn the SAG up to make it less compressed as an option.
Minneapolis - Nice cleaninsh amp with a good range in the gain stage, A good alterative voiciing to the other clean amps. EQ voicing is well done on the amp. Bright and Dark switch puts the "high freq" boost a little different spot than I expected, but when adjusting the EQ as a whole I works well and gives the amp a variety of voicings.
Monstrosity - can't get anything usable / to my taste out of this one

Do you believe that with enough tweaking you can get any amp tone you could ever want? Or do you think that a large portion of high Gain amplifiers are going to be out of range due to the hiss? I haven't had much issue with medium gain, but since I lobbied for this for so many years I really don't want to turn the gain knob up too much and be disappointed...

Thank you for the feedback. I made Houston, Kensington, Midwestern and Minneapolis. They are actually some of the first amps I made and I hopefully I'm getting better. I found a new way to implement dynamics/sag. but I'm not sure if its better of not. If anyone wants to try it please copy and paste the following code.78deluxe wrote: Wed May 26, 2021 12:03 am Here is a start - I got annoyed again with the demo hiss - to the observations are general.

The other amps you mentioned, I didn't create, so I can't do any adjustments on them. Anyway, thank you for your help.

I would say there is enough tweakability to cover general flavors of most things.Underoath77 wrote: Wed May 26, 2021 2:04 am Do you believe that with enough tweaking you can get any amp tone you could ever want? Nailing a very specific amp in terms of both tone AND feel....well that would be asking quite a bit. I also have far more experience with ultra high end boutique amps than the average person does so some of the things I look for in an amp both in terms of tone/harmonics and response might be a little different.
There are some tones that I haven't been able to get out of it along with the response but I also haven't gotten to deep dive as once I hit the "demo" period the "hiss" is far to frequent to really tollerate playing with it.
(and to be clear the hiss I was refereing to isn't the high gain hiss, but that of the demo mode becuase I do not have MComplete or a Subscription to everything so after 15 days it started to act like it is in demo mode). That said, it also makes it hard to judge high end fizz /hiss on high gain amps as a lot of that is noticable on decay....but given how short the playing durations are before "demo mode" kicks in....at this point hard for me to judge.
There is way more gain on tap in some of the amps than I'd ever use. I work in low to medium gain most of the time.
even as the product stands right now, I'd say it is release ready though I know Melda wants to make sure it has a robust feature set and the amps feel ready for "prime time." But given the update schedule Melda has, I don't see why it couldnt' be released and then updated over time. Only issue there would be if the fundemental amps change and thus create compatibility problems for previous projects as the revisions are made.
I've seen your posts lobbying for this product and I think you were spot on. There is a pretty large audience for this kind of thing. Guitarists like variety and many of them also like to tweak (as my large colelciton of boutique pedals would suggest).
Hopeuflly it comes in at a reasonable price point and I bet it will sell quite well upon release.
I've been using MCabinent with it, and buyers will have to keep in mind that they need a "sim" after this "amp sim" to make it sound good. And hopefully the price also reflects this.
