Hello my lovelies. I'm working on an idea for a little project (possibly a video), taking a look at softsynths that have the ability to create randomised presets and/or can randomise a number of the synth's parameters.

I've found a few so far.

Newfangled Audio's Pendulate and Generate, Beep Street Dagger (oh, why is that discontinued!), Xils Lab MiniSyn'x, Tone2 Warlock, AIR Loom II, 2nd Sense Audio Wiggle, Unfiltered Audio LION, good old SonicCharge's Synplant (which also creates new patch names!), as does ArcSyn; then there's the "mutate" function on Absynth and also some extensive parameter randomisation on the classic Massive.

Can anyone help me out with any other interesting ones there might be? Ta! :)

Tone2 Nemesis2 will be released next month, which will have randomisation similar to Warlock.
Always Read the Manual!

One of the best randomizer synth was Oatmeal but 32 bit only

12 years old PC running :Reaper;Reason;Dune;Zampler;Kontakr;Reaktor;and many others countless vst :D

Will the in-cart price for the preset pack/s be randomised too?

Now there's an idea! Haha!

Plogue Chipsynth MD does randomized FM which actually produces musical results. It's easy to randomize a subtractive synth and get something that sounds usable, but with FM the randomization needs to be very smart.

I'm tied to Cubase these days, so can only use 64-bit stuff but, I do remember Oatmeal being one of the better freebies "back in the day".

Yeah, if there's one thing you don't really want too much randomisation on, it's anything that can affect the tuning!

Reaktor - and Reaktor also has preset morphing which is often more useful as the results are more controllable depending on the presets morphed between

btw NI Kore 2 could do the same between the presets of almost any plugin which I found very useful as you could save snapshots of several preset states and morph between them all, then anything interesting that emerged in those in-between parts could also be saved as a preset.

sampleson's rand seems like it should get a mention, since it's the core idea of the synth.

sinmad by nusofting should be out any week now, and has a nice implementation.

if you're open to external solutions: in cantabile or cakewalk (and probably also in some other daws or wrappers i'm not familiar with, let me know) you can randomize all parameters of any vst. takes a bit of tweaking to get to something useful, but it can be a fun starting point.

and of course there's https://www.thisdx7cartdoesnotexist.com/ in a similar vein.

Not heard of Rand, thanks. Sinmad looks a bit crazy, which is good.

I'm just looking at synths with some kind of built in randomising. The plan is a compare and contrast type thing. :)

Aurora FM.

Rob Papen Predator2 have 4 modes for randomization parameters.

I'm fairly certain that FL Studio can randomize any VST's parameters at the click of a button... but have your volume down and a limiter on the end-- there's no telling what will come out!

Edit: just under "presets > randomize" (at end)

There's also Autogun. https://www.kvraudio.com/product/autogun-by-image-line

Thanks. I'm not looking to randomise any old synth, just looking at the ones that do it themselves, for a bit of fun.

Autogun, of course!
