Also BWS did a better job of both comping (in clips and linear session modes) and adding probability etc. V4 is a very nice update, and it can now also import Ableton and FL Studio data!! :ud:
Live has midi comping though as well. Bitwig only audio.

Question: Do M4L devices still have that extra latency? I haven't used Live since V8 or so and max devices had extra latency that couldn't ben compensated properly.

When I play a VSTi on my controller I don't want a high latency either. Delay Compensation won't work in this case.

Good point (I just don't use midi comping personally so never really considered it) but having comping in session and arrange view with some cool workflow editing and the right-click any audio clip to fold to takes is pretty clever...so for me, Bitwig wins this battle, but if you need Midi comping perhaps not!
X32 Desk, i9 PC, S88MK3, S1, BWS, Live + PUSH 3, Osmose, RedShift 6 Pro3, Tempera, Syntakt, Digitone II, OP1-F, OPXY, Eurorack, TD27 Drums, Guitars, Basses, Amps and of course lots of pedals!

It won't be far behind imo, the groundwork is all laid out.
Always Read the Manual!

think it was a typo and they meant “ Live has midi comping though as well. Bitwig only audio.”

Yes, I meant comping. Fixed original.

The point wasn’t the progress, but the entitlement. Just don’t moan too much when every third party developer doesn’t instantly have solutions to get their applications and plugins to natively support Cupertino’s latest and greatest.

What's a reasonable amount of time to expect the biggest developers to release natively compatible software? So far it's been 10 months since the developer kits were issued. U-he and Fabfilter and Valhalla have made the switch or are well underway and plenty of others too.

It's a much bigger job to do a DAW, not to mention Max, so that's fine, it's going to take longer. But if Bitwig and others have done it, then what's going on with Live? Native Instruments say they should be done later this year. I don't think it's unreasonable to expect Ableton to at least say what they're doing.

Maybe when the new chip has more than ten per cent of the potential user base.

I guess 11.1 later this year could have Apple Silicon support.
11.05 Publice Beta is going on for 2 months which is a bit long for a 0X release, so something is cooking up and we might have the news soon.

Post

Just getting started with Live/production in general and found this forum. Still using the trial for now and will probably look for a license here when I can if there are no summer sales. Excited to get going though.

Also, when I do go from the trial to the actual program, will it transfer over my "places" and favorites and all? Or should I just wait until I buy it to arrange everything? Thanks
