me, i have one host installed, the only one I use

no fb here either
Yeah? Well, you're weird and stuff and... uhhh.. I got nothing...

I just want to know how you found your one true DAW and have forsaken all others!
I started on Logic 5 with a PowerBook G4 550Mhz. I now have a MacBook Air M1 and it's ~165x faster! So, why is my music not proportionally better? :(

I don't believe for a second there are 40% more ProTools users than Live users. I would guess that there are many more Live users than ProTools users.
You can use Live and still want to know about and use Pro Tools. Live used to be theDAW to have as a secondary DAW, but these days most DAWs can do what Live was doing that separated it out from the pack 15-20 years ago, so that number is probably going down. Pro Tools is still the most commonly used DAW in any professional recording studio in the USA, there's no doubt about that. So IMO Pro Tools like Logic would be commonly a secondary DAW for people as well as the main DAW.

Of course these numbers only reflect an interest in the DAW, but realistically Pro Tools is often underestimated on places like KVR because of the way that home studio plug in enthusiasts like us use DAWs it's of low value. Hardly any of us are recording 3-10 piece bands with separate headphone mixes for each member with plug ins on various members, basically hardly any of us need a dedicated HDX card to cut the sort of latency that set up would produce.

Anyway this whole thing is for fun, there's literally no other metric out there available to us as end users that gives anything like a look into the user base, this might not be 100% accurate, but it's all there is. And I'm sure some people are outraged which is always good.

Looks like expected and how I experienced it working with clients and friends. Not surprised about FL Studio. It's the vocal minority thinking it's a kiddy tool. And of course ProTools is #1. People tend to think only inside the music business but it is being used for way more...

A: Someone who never shuts up.

The thing is about statistics though, the higher the number the more evened out the randomness becomes.
Yes, the thing with statistics however also it that in order to be valid, they need to measure indeed exactly what you actually seek to measure.

As a Reaper user I don't you're any less likely to be on Facebook, or not on FB, than any other DAW user. Or to put it another way, the amount of boomers, zooomers, and anti FB people is about the same as it would be for other DAWs. Even FL Studio is so old that there are all ages and types using it.
What makes you think that? DAW choice is not random. And hence I assume there are significant systematic differences between (say) the average ProTools user and the average FL user.
And these differences could also lead to quite different habits in regards to the useage of social media. But without scientific data in regards to this, you can only guess.
And due to the lack of this data the statistics mentioned here in this thread are worth exactly zero - i.e. they carry no valid information whatsoever.
