Very high quality 3rd part MAX devices were always Live's super power over more accessible built in creative devices...those modulators look very good indeed, Modulation to CV as well, I may have to get them
This is really becoming another big difference between Live and Bitwig...Bitwig is very much 'DIY' and Live is more of an 'ecosystem' with MAX.

Aren't those redundant considering those are free with 11 Suite (or was it already with 10 Suite):

Yeh, these look prettier though and are free with the modulation bundle anywayantic604 wrote: ↑Tue Jun 08, 2021 10:43 amAren't those redundant considering those are free with 11 Suite (or was it already with 10 Suite):

I must admit I have only used tre Live CV stuff quickly once to see how it worked as I have always driven my modular from Bitwig as it had better (and simpler) modulation possibilities...but these do look interesting...

also nice: and new; by dillon bastan (iris 2 like, on first sight, but has many different possibilities; this one i bought;
https://isotonikstudios.com/product/pathways/
i didn't check isotonikstudios, site that deep, i have bought some stuff, and received some stuff, but now i looked better, this is a small granular gem, per grain manipulation (or grainstream?), will buy it, granular addict, but for now, i am covered, also by dillon bastan; an 'older' device, but interesting;

'Only for the Hardcore Granularists!'.... a pre-release; perhaps interesting; i can't judge it yet from the vid.. but nice... o so many granulars... M4L/MAX is great for granular (like Reaktor..). and spectral..

The new one looks like an improved version of one of the GRM tools, in GUI terms at least.WasteLand wrote: ↑Tue Jun 08, 2021 4:14 pm also nice: and new; by dillon bastan (iris 2 like, on first sight, but has many different possibilities; this one i bought;

and cheaper.... GRM tools.. don't own GRM tools... look interesting, although i buy high sometimes, they can't really convince me (yet).Double Tap wrote: ↑Tue Jun 08, 2021 4:26 pmThe new one looks like an improved version of one of the GRM tools, in GUI terms at least.WasteLand wrote: ↑Tue Jun 08, 2021 4:14 pm also nice: and new; by dillon bastan (iris 2 like, on first sight, but has many different possibilities; this one i bought;

EDIT: perpaps for that price, i think of Crusher-X, that i own, but has it all, almost, and what it doesn't have. i think you manage to do it all.. but indeed, have other granulars/FX, and M4L devices (Granurise also nice... great even, but works better standalone..)

Well, as long as we discuss great M4L stuff, then those guys are worth checking:

It could be said quite the opposite. M4L is actually a real DIY (not for everyone but way deep and powerful)
While in BWS you must wait for additions, in Live you can DIY (M4L) or just look around for free and paid stuff coming out more often than any DAW upgrade and plugins in general.
BWS is more integrated but I wouldn’t be surprised when (If) Ableton will transform the core structure for M4L
MuLab of course

Bitwig is DIY as in you 'have to' do it yourself, no one else selling devices unlike MAX which is an entire ecosystem!liquidsound wrote: ↑Tue Jun 08, 2021 4:54 pmIt could be said quite the opposite. M4L is actually a real DIY (not for everyone but way deep and powerful)
Bitwig is far more 'plug and play', MAX is more like a visual programming language....To be fair to Bitwig, I could make an instrument in Bitwig without having to look at a manual, I have tried to learn MAX many times and never got very far! Two entirely different things IMO, Mile Reaktor and Reaktor Blocks...

That’s your problem but not a label for Live-Max.SLiC wrote: ↑Tue Jun 08, 2021 4:59 pmBitwig is DIY as in you 'have to' do it yourself, no one else selling devices unlike MAX which is an entire ecosystem!liquidsound wrote: ↑Tue Jun 08, 2021 4:54 pmIt could be said quite the opposite. Yes you pay for some M4L but you can choose to dive in or choose out of the hundreds of free stuff.
When BWS will have Grid MIDI out it will be fun indeed.
MuLab of course

I don't have a problem? The Grid is far easier to use than MAX, that's just a fact, but what I was saying is that professional development of add ins is a big advantage for Live over Bitwig and one of the main reasons I still use Live (I have a large collection of free and paid MAX devices)liquidsound wrote: ↑Tue Jun 08, 2021 5:03 pmThat’s your problem but not a label for Live-Max.SLiC wrote: ↑Tue Jun 08, 2021 4:59 pmBitwig is DIY as in you 'have to' do it yourself, no one else selling devices unlike MAX which is an entire ecosystem!liquidsound wrote: ↑Tue Jun 08, 2021 4:54 pmIt could be said quite the opposite. Ease of use and integration (especially with the modulation system) is the big advantage for Bitwig so I am Glad to have Live 11 and Bitwig, they don't compete for me, they are different.
