but indeed those drums sounds, both as timbre and timing IMHO, don't match the rest of the mix as quality
I see the kind of drumming you're after, but it's very hard to program,
first of all you need multilayered drums samples,
or a fine velocity filters work to achieve the max dynamic possible, avoid compresssed sounds,
then if you lay manually the beats they should not be quantized, but after that you may use an iterative quantizing algo to give more consistency to the drumming
well at least I'd go that way, <grin>

just working w/ soundfonts in sfz ...
but i'm not blaming the tools ...
it obviously needs some work ...
